Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to «Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S36361698522006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Disengage but do not remove the connector position assurance (CPA) on the connector. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
  3. Remove the screw.
  4. Remove the brake pedal position sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Apply adhesive GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the screw.
  2. Position the sensor fork to the pin.
  3. Rotate the sensor in order to align the sensor locator to the hole in the extension bracket.
  4. Install the brake pedal position sensor screw. Tighten: Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  5. Connect the electrical connector (2). Engage the CPA. The CPA will not engage if the connector is not attached properly.
  6. Calibrate the sensor. Refer to «Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration»(ref-241674-S24414319162006081100000) .
  7. Install the I/P insulator. Refer to «Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S36361698522006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

2Outlet Assembly, I/P A/C Left Tip: Pull rearward of the I/P to remove. Disconnect electrical connector from the headlamp switch.

Headlamp Switch Replacement

  1. Remove the overhead console screws.
  2. Grasp the overhead console and pull downward in order to disengage the fasteners. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-241679-S07411803162006081100000) in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the overhead console.
  4. Remove the dome lamp override/multifunction switch (5) by using pliers in order to compress the retainers while pulling the switch away from the housing.
  1. Snap the dome lamp override/multifunction switch (5) into the opening in the overhead console.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Align the overhead console within the vehicle.
  4. Install the overhead console. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-241679-S07411803162006081100000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Open the sliding door screw from the sliding door jamb switch bracket.
  2. Remove the sliding door jamb switch from the pillar.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sliding door jamb switch.
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the sliding door jamb switch.
  2. Install the sliding door jamb switch to the pillar.
  3. Install the screw to the sliding door jamb switch bracket. Tighten: Tighten the screw to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
  4. Close the sliding door in order to reset the sliding door jamb switch.
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim. Refer to «Upper Trim Pad, Outer Trim Cover, Fuse Block Access Cover Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S18664411922006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the security system LED. Refer to «LED Indicator Replacement - Vehicle Security System»(ref-241694-S25776426672006081100000) in Theft Deterrent.
  3. Twist the daytime running lamp (DRL) sensor counterclockwise in order to remove the sensor from the I/P upper trim.
  4. Remove the DRL sensor from the wiring harness.
  1. Install the DRL sensor to the wiring harness.
  2. Position the DRL sensor in the I/P upper trim and twist the sensor to secure.
  3. Install the security system LED. Refer to «LED Indicator Replacement - Vehicle Security System»(ref-241694-S25776426672006081100000) in Theft Deterrent.
  4. Install the I/P upper trim. Refer to «Upper Trim Pad, Outer Trim Cover, Fuse Block Access Cover Replacement - Instrument Panel»(ref-241678-S18664411922006081100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Scheme 24: Reading Lamp and Bulb Replace - Overhead Console

Reading Lamp and Bulb Replace - Overhead Console

  1. Remove the overhead console screws.
  2. Grasp the overhead console and pull downward in order to disengage the fasteners. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-241679-S07411803162006081100000) in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the overhead console.
  4. Remove the multifunction switch (5) by using pliers in order to compress the retainers while pulling the switch away from the housing.
  1. Snap the multifunction switch (5) into the opening in the overhead console.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Align the overhead console within the vehicle.
  4. Install the overhead console. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-241679-S07411803162006081100000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Lower the sunshade and raise the mirror and the lamp cover (the door).
  2. Insert a small flat-bladed tool at the lower edge of the vanity mirror lamp lens then press down to release the lens.
  3. Remove the vanity mirror lamp lens from the sunshade.
  4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
  1. Install the bulb into the socket.
  2. Position the vanity mirror lamp lens to the sunshade. Align the lens tabs into the housing slots and insert the upper edge of the lens first.
  3. Insert a small flat-bladed tool at the lower edge of the vanity mirror lamp lens then press up to fully install the lens.
  4. Close the lamp cover door and raise the sunshade.

Headlamp Replacement

3Headlamp Assembly (Qty: 2) Tip: Pull the headlamp forward to disengage the ball and socket attachment at the rear of the headlamp. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove and replace the bulbs if necessary. Remove and replace the headlamp wiring harness if necessary.
NOTE
Refer to Fastener Notice .

Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement

  1. Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to remove the cargo lamp from the headliner.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the cargo lamp.
  3. Remove the cargo lamp from the headliner.
  4. Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to remove the cargo lamp lens from the cargo lamp.
  5. Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to remove the bulb from the socket.
  1. Press the bulb into the socket.
  2. Snap the cargo lamp lens into the cargo lamp.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the cargo lamp.
  4. Install the cargo lamp to the headliner.
  5. Snap the cargo lamp into place.

Tail Lamp Assembly Replacement
1Screw, Tail Lamp (Qty: 4) Tip: Open the liftgate to gain access to the screws. Tighten: 6 N.m (53 lb in)
2Lamp Assembly, Tail (Qty: 2) Tip: Pull the tail lamp rearward to disengage the 2 retainers on the back side of the tail lamp. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove and replace the bulbs, if necessary. Remove and replace the tail lamp wiring harness, if necessary.
NOTE
Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tail Lamp Assembly and /or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement

  1. Using a small, flat-bladed tool, remove the coat hook access hole cover from the roof side rail lamp.
  2. Remove the screws from the roof side rail lamp.
  3. Remove the roof side rail lamp from the roof.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the roof side rail lamp.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the roof side rail lamp.
  2. Install the roof side rail lamp to the roof.
  3. Install the screws to the roof side rail lamp. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  4. Snap the coat hook access hole cover back into place on the roof side rail lamp.
