Communication Interface Module Replacement

If the OnStar® communication interface module is replaced, the setup procedure needs to be performed. Please refer to OnStar Reconfiguration in Cellular, Entertainment and Navigation.

Radio Replacement

If the digital radio receiver is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Perform the digital radio receiver setup. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup .

EBCM Replacement

If the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-277750-S23500018922008011800000) .
  2. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size calibration function.

Yaw Rate Sensor/Lateral Accelerometer Replacement

If the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-277750-S23500018922008011800000) .
  2. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size calibration function.

ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The ECM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-277750-S23500018922008011800000) .
  2. The CKP Variation Learn-Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .
  3. The Immobilizer Programming-Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-277774-S06140143012008011800000) .

Setup for Component Replacement

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the HVAC control module is replaced, an automatic re-calibration of all the actuators will occur. No additional procedures are necessary.

Actuator Replacement

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

  1. Re-Calibrating Actuators-Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-277730-S28976763112008011800000) for the manual system.
  2. Re-Calibrating Actuators-Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Auxiliary HVAC)»(ref-277772-S09617219782008011800000) or «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-277772-S06218796212008011800000) for the automatic system.

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement

If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The PCM reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-277750-S23500018922008011800000) .
  2. The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn-Refer to «Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn»(ref-277758-S26368736832008011800000) .

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure must be performed. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

If the radio is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Reprogram the radio. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement

If the TCM is replaced, TCM Reprogramming must be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
