WHEEL BEARING
Wheel bearings are sealed and not adjustable. To check wheel bearing for excessive wear, raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Secure brake rotor using 2 wheel nuts. Compress caliper piston to free disc. Mount dial indicator to axle hub. (Scheme 3) Grasp brake rotor, applying force in and out. If measurement exceeds.02" (.5 mm), replace bearing.
Sealed cartridge bearings are preloaded and are designed to provide correct preload when wheel bearing lock nut is tightened to 159 ft. lbs. (216 N.m). No further adjustment is required.
