Seat System: Removal & Installation Chevrolet SSR I

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR. Refer to «SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7»(ref-187804-S06756841322005090100000) and to «SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9»(ref-187804-S38380087652005090100000) in SIR.
2. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt and remove the sets belt from the seat guide loop. Refer to «Seat Belt Replacement - Front»(ref-187838-S16555017932005090100000) in Seat Belts.
3. Raise the seat to maximum height.
4. Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.
5. Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
6. Remove the front seat mounting bolt.
7. Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.
8. Disconnect the yellow SIR electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the seat belt buckle electrical connector.
10. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
11. Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the seat to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical harness. Clip the harness to the seat bracket.
3. Connect the yellow SIR electrical connector.
4. Connect the seat belt buckle electrical connector.
5. Install the front seat mounting bolt. Do not tighten.
6. Install the 3 front seat mounting nuts on the floor studs. Tighten: Tighten the front seat mounting nuts to 45 N.m (33 lb ft). Tighten the front seat mounting bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
7. Feed the seat belt through the seat guide loop and install the seat belt anchor bolt. Refer to «Seat Belt Replacement - Front»(ref-187838-S16555017932005090100000) in Seat Belts.
8. Enable the SIR. Refer to «SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7»(ref-187804-S06756841322005090100000) and to «SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9»(ref-187804-S38380087652005090100000) in SIR.
9. Install the seat mounting fastener covers.

1. Remove the 2 front finish panel screws.
2. Pull the inboard edge of the panel out to release the retaining clip.
3. Remove the tabs from the slots in the outer trim panel.
4. Remove the front finish panel from the seat assembly.

1. Align the front finish panel to the seat assembly by hooking the tabs into the slots in the outer trim panel.
2. Align and install the inboard clip in the slot on the seat frame.
3. Install the 2 screws retaining the front finish panel to the seat assembly. Tighten: Tighten the front finish panel screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
4. Remove the J-Strip (1) securing the rear of the seat cushion cover to the frame.
5. Remove the push pins (2) securing the seat cover to the frame.
6. Remove the seat belt buckle bolt (2).
7. Disconnect the black electrical connector from the seat belt buckle.
8. Pull the seat belt buckle harness back through the hole in the seat adjuster assembly.
9. Remove the seat belt buckle assembly by pulling it out through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the seat back harness.
11. Disconnect the lumbar electrical connector, if equipped.
12. Remove the harness clip securing the SIR harness to the seat adjuster.
13. Disconnect the seat back heating element electrical connector, if equipped.
14. Remove the seat adjuster cable (1) from the seat adjuster.
15. Remove the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by removing the ball though the round opening.
16. Remove the 2 bolts securing the recliner assembly to each side of the seat.
17. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
18. Remove the 4 nuts that secure the seat cushion frame to the power seat adjuster frame.

1. Install the 4 nuts that secure the seat cushion frame to the power seat adjuster frame. Tighten: Tighten the seat cushion frame mounting nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
2. Install the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
3. Install the 2 bolts securing the recliner assembly to each side of the seat. Tighten: Tighten the seat recliner mounting bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
4. Install the harness clip securing the SIR harness to the seat adjuster.
5. Connect the lumbar electrical connector, if equipped.
6. Connect the electrical connector to the seat back harness.
7. Connect the seat back heating element electrical connector, if equipped.
8. Install the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by inserting the ball though the round opening.
9. Install the seat adjuster cable (1) to the seat adjuster.
10. Install the seat belt buckle assembly through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
11. Install the seat belt buckle to the seat with the bolt (2). Tighten: Tighten the seat belt buckle bolt to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).
12. Run the seat belt buckle electrical harness through the seat adjuster.
13. Connect the electrical connector to the seat belt buckle.
14. Install the rear seat cover flaps to the frame with the push pins (2).
15. Install the J-Strip (1) on the rear of the seat cover to the frame.
16. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
17. Install the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
18. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the front finish panel from the seat. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat back recliner handle. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S36281027282005090100000) .
3. Remove the 2 seat cushion outer trim panel screws.
4. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel from the seat assembly.

1. Align the seat cushion outer trim panel to the seat assembly.
2. Install the 2 screws retaining the seat cushion outer trim panel to the seat assembly. Tighten: Tighten the seat cushion outer trim panel screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
3. Install the seat back recliner handle. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S36281027282005090100000) .
4. Install the front finish panel to the seat. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .

1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
4. Remove the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
5. Remove the memory seat control module. Refer to «Memory Seat Control Module Replacement»(ref-187813-S34280280472005090100000) .
6. Remove the J-Strip (1) securing the rear of the seat cushion cover to the frame.
7. Remove the push pins (2) securing the seat cover to the frame.
8. Remove the seat belt buckle bolt (2).
9. Disconnect the black electrical connector from the seat belt buckle.
10. Pull the seat belt buckle harness back through the hole in the seat adjuster assembly.
11. Remove the seat belt buckle assembly by pulling it out through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
12. Remove the push pins (1) securing the seat cushion cover on each side of the seat cushion frame.
13. Release the front J-strip (1).
14. Disconnect the seat cushion heater electrical connector, if equipped.
15. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame.
16. Remove the hog rings (3) securing the cover (1) to the pad (4).
17. Remove the seat cover from the seat pad.
18. Remove the heater element (1) by peeling the element off the pad (2).
19. Pull the heater element electrical harness through the hole (3) in the pad.

1. Install the heater element electrical harness through the hole (3) in the pad.
2. Install the adhesive-backed heater element (1) to the pad (2) by pressing in place.
3. Install the seat cushion to the seat cushion frame.
4. Install the seat cover to the seat pad.
5. Install the hog rings (3) securing the cover to the pad. Ensure that rings go around the rod (2) in the seat cover.
6. Using a side-to-side motion, carefully pull the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion frame.
7. Connect the seat cushion heater electrical connector.
8. Install the front J-strip (1).
9. Install the push pins (1) that retain the seat cushion cover to the side of the seat cushion frame.
10. Install the seat belt buckle assembly through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
11. Install the seat belt buckle to the seat with the bolt (2). Tighten: Tighten the seat belt buckle bolt to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).
12. Run the seat belt buckle electrical harness through the seat adjuster.
13. Connect the electrical connector to the seat belt buckle.
14. Install the rear seat cover flaps to the frame with the push pins (2).
15. Install the J-Strip (1) on the rear of the seat cover to the frame.
16. Install the memory seat control module. Refer to «Memory Seat Control Module Replacement»(ref-187813-S34280280472005090100000) .
17. Install the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
18. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
19. Install the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
20. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the chrome head restraint trim from the head rest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat back release handle. Refer to «EZ Entry Seat Manual Release Knob Replacement»(ref-187813-S37557039242005090100000) .
4. Remove the seat belt guide. Refer to «Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S33304825222005090100000) .
5. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
6. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel.
7. Remove the left and right seat back cushion side bolster panels. Refer to «Seat Back Cushion-Side Bolster Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S15700064582005090100000) .
8. Remove the seat back cover tabs (1) from around the upper seat back panel (2).
9. Remove the seat back cover tabs from around the inside of the head restraint support.
10. Remove the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
11. Remove the cover and cushion from the seat back assembly.
12. Remove the hog rings (1) securing the seat cover (2) to the foam cushion (3).
13. Remove the cover from the cushion.
14. Remove the seat back heater element. Refer to «Seat Back Heater Element Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S07708289422005090100000) .

1. Install the seat back heater element. Refer to «Seat Back Heater Element Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S07708289422005090100000) .
2. Install the cover (2) to the cushion (3) with hog rings (1).
3. Install the cover and cushion to the seat back assembly.
4. Install the seat back cover tabs around the inside of the head restraint support.
5. Install the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
6. Install the left and right seat back cushion side bolster panels. Refer to «Seat Back Cushion-Side Bolster Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S15700064582005090100000) .
7. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
8. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel.
9. Install the seat back cover tabs (1) around the upper seat back panel (2).
10. Install the seat belt guide. Refer to «Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S33304825222005090100000) .
11. Install the seat back release handle. Refer to «EZ Entry Seat Manual Release Knob Replacement»(ref-187813-S37557039242005090100000) .
12. Install the chrome head restraint trim to the head rest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
13. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
3. Remove the head restraint support. Refer to «Head Restraint Support Replacement»(ref-187813-S15667467452005090100000) .
4. Remove the lumbar assembly. Refer to «Lumbar Replacement - Front Seat»(ref-187813-S07514219922005090100000) .
5. Remove the four seat recliner mounting bolts securing the seat back frame to the seat back recliner mechanism.
6. Remove the seat back frame.

1. Install the seat back frame to the seat back recliner mechanism with four bolts. Tighten: Tighten the seat recliner mounting bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
2. Install the lumbar assembly. Refer to «Lumbar Replacement - Front Seat»(ref-187813-S07514219922005090100000) .
3. Install the head restraint support. Refer to «Head Restraint Support Replacement»(ref-187813-S15667467452005090100000) .
4. Install the seat back pad and cover. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
5. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
4. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
5. Remove the seat adjuster cable (1) from the seat adjuster.
6. Remove the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by removing the ball though the round opening.
7. Remove the 4 bolts securing the recliner assembly to the seat adjuster. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) .
8. Remove the 4 bolts securing the recliner assembly to the seat back. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) .
9. Remove the seat back recliners.
10. Remove the dump tube (3) from the recliners (1).
11. Inspect the O-ring (2) on each recliner and replace if necessary. Do not remove the spring.

1. Install the O-ring (2) on the recliner (1).
2. Install the dump tube (3) on the recliners.
3. Install the 4 bolts securing the recliner assembly to the seat adjuster. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) . Tighten: Tighten the seat recliner mounting bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
4. Install the 4 bolts securing the recliner assembly to the seat back. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) . Tighten: Tighten the seat recliner mounting bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
5. Install the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by inserting the ball though the round opening.
6. Install the seat adjuster cable (1) to the seat adjuster.
7. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
8. Install the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
9. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
10. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Open the door.
2. Remove the screw securing the seat back release knob to the seat.
3. Remove the seat back release knob.

1. Position the seat back release knob onto the seat assembly.
2. Install the screw securing the seat back release knob to the seat. Tighten: Tighten the seat back release knob screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

1. Open the door.
2. Remove the screw securing the seat back recliner handle to the seat.
3. Remove the seat back recliner handle.

1. Position the seat back recliner handle onto the seat assembly.
2. Install the seat back recliner handle. Tighten: Tighten the seat back recliner handle screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

1. Remove the front seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
4. Remove the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
5. Remove the seat adjuster cable (1) from the seat adjuster.
6. Remove the cable end from the seat adjuster (2) by removing the ball though the round opening.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to remove the cable from the opposite side of the seat.
8. Remove the push pins (1) securing the seat cushion cover on each side of the seat cushion frame.
9. Release the front J-strip (1).
10. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the front of the seat cushion frame enough to expose the front seat cushion frame mounting nuts.
11. Loosen the seat cushion frame mounting nuts to raise the frame enough to slide the cable out from between the seat cushion frame and the seat adjuster.

1. Install the cable between the seat cushion frame and the seat adjuster.
2. Tighten the seat cushion frame mounting nuts that secure the seat cushion frame to the power seat adjuster frame. Tighten: Tighten the seat cushion frame mounting nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the seat cushion cover and pad over the seat cushion frame.
4. Install the front J-strip (1).
5. Install the cable end to the seat adjuster (2) by inserting the ball though the round opening.
6. Install the seat adjuster cable (1) to the seat adjuster.
7. Route the cable (1) through the notch (2) in the seat adjuster and under the seat cushion frame.
8. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to install the cable to the opposite side of the seat.
9. Install the push pins (1) that retain the seat cushion cover to the side of the seat cushion frame.
10. Install the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
11. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
12. Install the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
13. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat back cover. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
3. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact module. Refer to «Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front»(ref-187804-S36954882022005090100000) in SIR.
4. Remove the 2 screws that retain the seat back cushion side bolster panel to the seat back frame.

1. Install the 2 screws that secure the seat back cushion side bolster panel to the seat back frame. Tighten: Tighten the seat back cushion side bolster panel screws to 6.25 N.m (55 lb in).
2. Install the inflatable restraint side impact module. Refer to «Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - Front»(ref-187804-S36954882022005090100000) in SIR.
3. Install the seat back cover. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
4. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the chrome head restraint trim from the headrest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat belt guide. Refer to «Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S33304825222005090100000) .
4. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
5. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel (1).
6. Remove the top screw securing the seat back panel to the seat back headrest.
7. Remove the 2 screws securing the seat back panel to the seat back assembly.
8. Remove the seat back panel by pulling rearward to unsnap the panel clips from the seat back frame.

1. Install the seat back panel to the seat back frame by pressing clips firmly into place.
2. Install the top screw securing the seat back panel to the seat back headrest. Tighten: Tighten the seat back panel screw to 6.25 N.m (55 lb in).
3. Install the 2 screws securing the seat back panel to the seat back assembly. Tighten: Tighten the seat back panel screws to 6.25 N.m (55 lb in).
4. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
5. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel (1).
6. Install the seat belt guide. Refer to «Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S33304825222005090100000) .
7. Install the chrome head restraint trim to the headrest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
8. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
3. Remove the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lumbar motor.
5. Detach the seat back frame wire (2) from the top of the lumbar (1).
6. Detach the seat back frame wire from the bottom of the lumbar.
7. Drill out and remove the 2 lumbar motor mounting rivets (1).
8. Remove the lumbar assembly (2) from the seat.

1. Position the lumbar assembly (2) onto the seat.
2. Install the lumbar motor to the seat frame with 2 new rivets (1).
3. Attach the top and bottom of the lumbar (1) onto the seat back frame wire (2).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the lumbar motor.
5. Install the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
6. Install the seat back pad and cover. Refer to «Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S39103699042005090100000) .
7. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel from the seat assembly. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
2. Remove the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
3. Release the tabs that retain the seat switch (4) to the seat switch bezel (3).
4. Disconnect the electrical connector on the seat switch harness from the seat wiring harness.
5. Remove the seat switch from the seat switch bezel assembly.

1. Connect the electrical connector on the seat switch harness to the seat wiring harness.
2. Install the seat switch (4) to the seat switch bezel (3) by snapping the switch assembly into the bezel. Verify that the retaining tabs are fully seated.
3. Install the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
4. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel to the seat assembly. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

3. Remove the 3 screws that retain the switch bezel to the seat.

5. Remove the heated seat switch from the switch bezel by releasing the retaining tabs. Refer to «Heated Seat Switch Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S09804968812005090100000) .
6. Remove the switch bezel from the seat.

1. Install the heated seat switch to the switch bezel, verifying that the retaining tabs are fully seated. Refer to «Heated Seat Switch Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S09804968812005090100000) .
2. Install the seat switch to the switch bezel, verifying that the retaining tabs are fully seated. Refer to «Seat Switch Replacement - Power»(ref-187813-S09018870682005090100000) .
3. Install the switch bezel to the seat with the 3 screws. Tighten: Tighten the seat switch bezel screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
4. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel to the seat assembly. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
5. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

5. Remove the seat belt buckle bolt (2).
6. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
7. Disconnect the black electrical connector from the seat back harness.
8. Disconnect the black electrical connector from the seat belt buckle.
9. Disconnect the gray lumbar electrical connector, if equipped.
10. Disconnect the seat harness connectors from the 3 seat motors. Note the black wire routes to the front motor, the yellow wire to the middle motor, and the red wire to the rear motor.
11. Remove the seat harness from the seat adjuster assembly.
12. Remove the SIR harness from the harness clips, and remove the SIR harness from the seat.
13. Remove the 2 bolts securing the recliner assembly to each side of the seat. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) .
14. Remove the 4 nuts that secure the seat cushion frame to the power seat adjuster frame.

1. Install the 2 bolts securing the recliner assembly to each side of the seat. Refer to «Seat Back Recliner Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S08718778752005090100000) . Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
2. Install the 4 nuts that secure the seat cushion frame to the power seat adjuster frame. Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the seat harness to the seat adjuster assembly.
4. Connect the seat harness connectors to the 3 seat motors. Note the black wire routes to the front motor, the yellow wire to the middle motor, and the red wire to the rear motor.
5. Install the SIR harness to the seat clips.
6. Connect the gray lumbar electrical connector, if equipped.
7. Connect the black electrical connector to the seat belt buckle.
8. Connect the black electrical connector to the seat back harness.
9. Install the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to «Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S41629624072005090100000) .
10. Install the seat belt buckle to the seat with the bolt (2). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
11. Install the seat position switch. Refer to «Inflatable Restraint Seat Position Sensor Replacement»(ref-187804-S13194633632005090100000) in SIR.
12. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
13. Install the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
14. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .
15. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to «Memory Seat Calibration Procedure»(ref-187813-S41397566932005090100000) .

2. Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors (2) from the memory seat control module (1).

5. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
6. Remove the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel.

8. Remove the seat back cover tabs (1) from around the upper seat back panel (2).
9. Remove the seat back cover tabs from around the inside of the head restraint support.
10. Remove the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
11. Remove the cover and cushion from the seat back assembly.
12. Remove the hog rings (1) securing the seat cover (2) to the foam cushion (3).
13. Remove the cover from the cushion.
14. Remove the heater element (1) by peeling the element off the pad (2).
15. Pull the heater element electrical harness through the hole (3) in the pad.

2. Install the adhesive-backed heater element (1) to the pad (2) by pressing in place.
3. Install the cover (2) to the cushion (3) with hog rings (1).
4. Install the cover and cushion to the seat back assembly.
5. Install the seat back cover tabs around the inside of the head restraint support.
6. Install the seat back panel. Refer to «Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S28302232412005090100000) .
7. Install the left and right seat back cushion side bolster panels. Refer to «Seat Back Cushion-Side Bolster Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S15700064582005090100000) .
8. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (2) along each side of the seat back panel (1).
9. Install the seat back cover retaining tabs (3) along the bottom of the seat back panel.
10. Install the seat back cover tabs (1) around the upper seat back panel (2).
11. Install the seat belt guide. Refer to «Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front»(ref-187813-S33304825222005090100000) .

5. Remove the J-Strip (1) securing the rear of the seat cushion cover to the frame.
6. Remove the push pins (2) securing the seat cover to the frame.
7. Remove the seat belt buckle bolt (2).
8. Disconnect the black electrical connector from the seat belt buckle.
9. Pull the seat belt buckle harness back through the hole in the seat adjuster assembly.
10. Remove the seat belt buckle assembly by pulling it out through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
11. Remove the push pins (1) securing the seat cushion cover on each side of the seat cushion frame.
12. Release the front J-strip (1).
13. Disconnect the seat cushion heater electrical connector, if equipped.
14. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame.
15. Remove the hog rings (3) securing the cover (1) to the pad (4).
16. Remove the seat cover from the seat pad.
17. Remove the heater element (1) by peeling the element off the pad (2).
18. Pull the heater element electrical harness through the hole (3) in the pad.

2. Install the adhesive-backed heater element (1) to the pad (2) by pressing in place.
3. Install the seat cushion to the seat cushion frame.
4. Install the seat cover to the seat pad.
5. Install the hog rings (3) securing the cover to the pad. Ensure that rings go around the rod (2) in the seat cover.
6. Using a side to side motion, carefully pull the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion frame.
7. Connect the seat cushion heater electrical connector.
8. Install the front J-strip (1).
9. Install the push pins (1) that retain the seat cushion cover to the side of the seat cushion frame.
10. Install the seat belt buckle assembly through the slot in the seat cushion cover.
11. Install the seat belt buckle to the seat with the bolt (2). Tighten: Tighten the seat belt buckle bolt to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
12. Run the seat belt buckle electrical harness through the seat adjuster.
13. Connect the electrical connector to the seat belt buckle.
14. Install the rear seat cover flaps to the frame with the push pins (2).
15. Install the J-Strip (1) on the rear of the seat cover to the frame.
16. Install the seat switch bezel. Refer to «Seat Switch Bezel Replacement»(ref-187813-S26560027102005090100000) .
17. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to «Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-187813-S30466903892005090100000) .
18. Install the front finish panel. Refer to «Finish Panel Replacement - Front Seat - Front»(ref-187813-S31249212982005090100000) .
19. Install the front seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

5. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to «Seat Replacement»(ref-187813-S26985867522005090100000) .

1. Grasp the chrome head restraint trim firmly with both hands.
2. Remove the chrome headrest trim by pulling panel straight up to disengage retaining clips.
3. Inspect the retaining clips and trim for weakened retention strength or part degradation.

2. Position the chrome head restraint trim on the seat ensuring that the trim's tabs align with the slots in the seat.
3. Install the chrome head restraint trim by pressing downward firmly until you fell both panel clips engage.

1. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt and remove the seats belt from the seat guide loop. Refer to «Seat Belt Replacement - Front»(ref-187838-S16555017932005090100000) in Seat Belts.
2. Remove the chrome head restraint trim from the headrest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
3. Remove the 2 nuts (1) securing the seat belt guide to the seat back frame. Discard the nuts.
4. Remove the filler piece (2).
5. Remove the seat belt guide.

1. Install the seat belt guide onto the seat back frame studs.
2. Install the filler piece (2).
3. Install the seat belt guide to the seat back frame with 2 new duel-component epoxy lock-nuts (1). Tighten: Tighten the seat belt guide nuts to 11 N.m (8 lb ft).
4. Install the chrome head restraint trim to the headrest. Refer to «Chrome Head Restraint Trim Replacement»(ref-187813-S14881989732005090100000) .
5. Feed the seat belt through the seat guide loop and install the seat belt anchor bolt. Refer to «Seat Belt Replacement - Front»(ref-187838-S16555017932005090100000) in Seat Belts.
