Installation Procedure
- Install the sill plate.
- Push the sill plate down until the sill plate locks into place.

- Remove the sill plate from the vehicle.
- Install the sill plate.
- Push the sill plate down until the sill plate locks into places.

- Install the carpet to the vehicle.

- Install the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Regular Cab)»(ref-176717-S26188285132005051800000) or «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Extended Cab)»(ref-176717-S04790890062005051800000) .
- Install the jack assembly.
- Install the rear seat if removed.
- Install the shift lever and the boot, if equipped.
- Install the center seat, if equipped. Refer to «SEAT REPLACEMENT - CENTER»(ref-176716-S28423525282005051200000) .
- Install the floor storage console. Refer to «CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (LUXURY CONSOLE)»(ref-176702-S09497647752005051000000) , «CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (BASE CONSOLE)»(ref-176702-S24203128782005051000000) or «CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (PRO)»(ref-176702-S35568641132005051000000) .
- Install the front seats. Refer to «SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET»(ref-176716-S19498008392005051200000) .
- Install the door sill plates. Refer to «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S29168192672005051800000) or «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear»(ref-176717-S03977996252005051800000) .
- Install the hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar»(ref-176717-S03410443752005051800000) .

- Remove the IP top trim panel. Refer to «TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER»(ref-176702-S10596506242005051000000) .
- Remove the driver side accessory housing (1) from the IP.
- Remove the IP upper brackets.
- Remove the transfer case control module, if equipped.
- Release the pressure on the headliner wire harness by removing the wire harness retainers (1)
- Disconnect the headliner wire connectors from the junction block located next to the clutch or brake pedal.
- Remove the wire harness retainer along the windshield pillar.
- Follow the routing of the wire harness through the IP and release any wire harness retainers.
- Carefully pull out the wire harness from the windshield pillar ensuring that the wire harness does not get caught on any part.
- Remove the center trim pillar moldings, if equipped. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar»(ref-176717-S00275859142005051800000) .
- Remove the rear quarter trim panels, if necessary. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Regular Cab)»(ref-176717-S26188285132005051800000) or «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Extended Cab)»(ref-176717-S04790890062005051800000) .
- Remove the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead (Short Length)»(ref-176717-S09215893712005051800000) or «Console Replacement - Overhead (Full Length)»(ref-176717-S16884520112005051800000) .
- Remove both front sunshades. Refer to «Sunshade Replacement»(ref-176717-S37872246542005051800000) .
- Remove the rear coat hook, if equipped. Refer to «Coat Hook Replacement»(ref-176717-S00286262462005051800000) .
- Remove the interior dome lamp. Refer to «DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT»(ref-176693-S00509882572005051000000) .
- Remove the assist handles, if equipped. Refer to «Assist Handle Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S31443841542005051800000) .
- Disengaging the front of the headliner from the roof.
- If replacing the crew cab headliner remove the rear window from the vehicle. Refer to «REAR WINDOW REPLACEMENT (PICKUP)»(ref-176712-S11031105862005051300000) .
- Remove the headliner from the vehicle by grasping the headliner on the left and the rights sides near the front of the cab
- With the aid of an assistant install the headliner to the vehicle.
- Install the rear window into the vehicle, if equipped.
- Install the assist handles, if equipped. Refer to «Assist Handle Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S31443841542005051800000) .
- Install the interior dome lamp. Refer to «DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT»(ref-176693-S00509882572005051000000) .
- Install the rear coat hook, if equipped. Refer to «Coat Hook Replacement»(ref-176717-S00286262462005051800000) .
- Install both front sunshades. Refer to «Sunshade Replacement»(ref-176717-S37872246542005051800000) .
- Install the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead (Short Length)»(ref-176717-S09215893712005051800000) or «Console Replacement - Overhead (Full Length)»(ref-176717-S16884520112005051800000) .
- Install the rear quarter trim panels, if needed. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Regular Cab)»(ref-176717-S26188285132005051800000) or «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Extended Cab)»(ref-176717-S04790890062005051800000) .
- Install the center trim pillar moldings, if equipped. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar»(ref-176717-S00275859142005051800000) .
- Carefully route the wire harness through the IP in order to connect the wire to the junction block located next to the clutch or brake pedal.
- Install the transfer case control module, if equipped. Important: Ensure that all of the wire harness retainers in the IP and the windshield pillar are all pressed into place in order to prevent rattling during driving.
- Press in the wire harness retainer (1) in order to secure the harness.
- Connect the headliner electrical connector to the junction block located next to the clutch or brake pedal.
- Install the IP upper brackets.
- Tighten. Tighten the IP upper Brackets bolts to 9 N.m 80 lb in
- Connect the electrical connectors to the drivers side accessory housing (1).
- Install the drivers side accessory housing (1) to the IP.
- Install the IP top trim panel. Refer to «TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER»(ref-176702-S10596506242005051000000) .
Removal Procedure
- Lower the right side of the headliner. Refer to «Headliner Replacement»(ref-176717-S26236121992005051800000) .
- Turn the retainers in the directions as shown in the graphic and then remove the retainers.
- Remove the assist handle from the headliner.
- Install the assist handle through the opening in the headliner.
- While holding the assist handle to the head liner install the retainer in the direction as shown in the graphic.
- Install the headliner. Refer to «Headliner Replacement»(ref-176717-S26236121992005051800000) .

- Remove center pillar trim panel. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar»(ref-176717-S00275859142005051800000) .
- Remove the assist handle retaining screws.
- Remove the assist handle from the vehicle.
- Install the assist handle to the vehicle.
- Install the assist handle screws. Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
- Install the center pillar trim panel. Refer to «Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar»(ref-176717-S00275859142005051800000) .

- Use a small size flat-bladed tool in order to pry out the outer part of coat hook.
- Pull out the outer part of the coat hook.
- Push down on the coat hook in order to release the tab from the headliner.
- Remove the coat hook from the headliner.
- Install the coat hook into the headliner.
- Push in the outer part until the coat hook locks into place.

- Remove the console roof screw.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the console.
- Install the console to the roof.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the console roof screw. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

- Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.
- Remove the sunshade.
- Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
- Install the sunshade.
- Install the sunshade screws. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

- Pull the molding straight out in order to release the retainers.
- Remove the windshield garnish molding.
- Ensure the bottom of the molding is seated in the slots on the I/P.
- Align the molding retainers to the slots.
- Press the moldings straight in till fully seated.

- Remove the door sill plates. Refer to «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S29168192672005051800000) or «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear»(ref-176717-S03977996252005051800000) .
- Remove the pillar moldings by holding the moldings firmly while pulling out.
- Install the pillar moldings by pushing until the moldings locks into place.
- Install the door sill trim panel. Refer to «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S29168192672005051800000) or «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear»(ref-176717-S03977996252005051800000) .

Scheme 36: Removal Procedure
- Lightly pull the lower edge of the molding in order to release the clips. On extended cab fold the rear bench seat up. This will move the assembly forward so that the molding can be accessed.
- Lift the molding up and away from the glass in order to release the upper retainers.
- Align the molding clips with the holes in the body panel along the back glass.
- Snap the molding into place.
- Remove the rear window lower molding. Refer to «Molding Replacement - Rear Window Lower»(ref-176717-S14344383232005051800000) .
- Remove the trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Regular Cab)»(ref-176717-S26188285132005051800000) or «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter (Extended Cab)»(ref-176717-S04790890062005051800000) .
- Remove the carpet retainers.
- Remove the carpet from the vehicle.

- Install the carpet.
- Install the carpet retainers.

- Install the jack and tool stowage.

- Remove the quarter panel from the vehicle.
- Install the seat belt assembly. Refer to «SEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - REAR (EXTENDED CAB)»(ref-176929-S20096059972005051700000) or «SEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - REAR (CREW CAB)»(ref-176929-S13383972012005051700000) .
- Install the quarter panel to the vehicle.
- Install the quarter panel trim screws. Tighten the quarter panel trim screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the sill trim panel. Refer to «Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front»(ref-176717-S29168192672005051800000) .
- Install the armrest.
- Install the armrest screw. Tighten the armrest screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the rear window molding. Refer to «Molding Replacement - Rear Window Lower»(ref-176717-S14344383232005051800000) .
- Install the rear seat if necessary. Refer to «SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (EXTENDED CAB W/4TH DOOR)»(ref-176716-S39076088932005051200000) , «SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (EXTENDED CAB)»(ref-176716-S38439242742005051200000) or «SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT)»(ref-176716-S29472392212005051200000) .

- Raise the rear seat.
- Remove the nuts that retain the tool storage compartment to the mounting brackets.
- Remove the tool storage compartment from the vehicle.
- Install the tool storage compartment to the vehicle.
- Install the nuts that retain the tool storage compartment to the vehicle.
- Install the nuts that retain the tool storage compartment to the mounting brackets. Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
- Lower the rear seat.

- Remove the tool storage compartment. Refer to «Tools Storage Compartment»(ref-176717-S21147322842005051800000) .
- Remove the rear seat hinge filler panel cover and plastic push pins, in order to gain access to seat riser retaining nuts.
- Remove the nuts that retain the tool storage compartment brackets (1), (2) to the seat riser studs.
- Remove the brackets from the vehicle.
- Install the brackets to the vehicle and hand tighten the nuts.
- Install the tool storage compartment.
- Tighten the nuts that retain the tool storage compartment brackets (1), (2) to the seat riser studs. Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (36 lb ft).
- Install the rear seat hinge filler panel cover and plastic push pins.

Scheme 43: Removal Procedure
- Open the lid of the tool storage box. CAUTION: Eye protection must be worn when drilling rivets to reduce the chance of personal injury. Important: The storage box lid has spring tension. Be sure to secure the lid when removing the support assembly, if the storage box is not inside the vehicle.
- Remove the rivets (1) from the upper lid (2).
- Remove the rivets (3) from the lower box (4).
- Remove the support assembly from the tool storage box.
- Install the support assembly to the storage box.
- Install the rivets (3) to the lower box (4).
- Install the rivets (1) to the upper lid (2).
- Close the lid on the tool storage box.
