Removal
Note. Tools Required: J-39914 Drive Belt Tension Wrench.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Using the J-39914, rotate the belt tensioner. (Scheme 23)
- Remove the drive belt from the generator pulley. Support the engine by the oil pan.
- Remove the engine mount assembly from the engine mount bracket support. (Scheme 24) Remove the auxiliary bracket.
- Lower the engine in order to remove the drive belt. (Scheme 25) Remove the drive belt.
Installation
- Using the J-39914, rotate the belt tensioner and install the drive belt.
- Install the auxiliary bracket. Install the auxiliary bracket fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m).
- Install the engine mount assembly to the engine mount bracket support bolts.
- Remove the floor jack. Connect the negative battery cable.

| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
