Intermittent failures cause SERVICE ENGINE/THROTTLE SOON light to flicker or illuminate and go out about 10 seconds after intermittent fault goes away. However, PCM/VCM retains corresponding trouble code in memory. If related fault does not reoccur within 50 engine restarts, related trouble code is erased from PCM/VCM memory. Sensor, connector or wiring related problems may cause intermittent failures. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
