(1) Inspect and replace as necessary. (2) On Allison transmissions, if used under severe conditions, replace every 25,000 miles. (3) On all other transmissions, if vehicle's GVWR is greater than 8600 lbs (3900 kg) or if used under severe conditions, replace every 50,000 miles. If used under normal conditions, replace every 100,000 miles. (4) If used under severe conditions, replace every 3000 miles. If used under normal conditions, replace as indicated by CHANGE OIL SOON light or every 12 months, whichever comes first.

REPLACEMENT INTERVALS

BELT TENSION

Adjustment of serpentine belt is not necessary. Belt tension is maintained by spring-tensioned idler pulley (some equipped with belt wear indicator).

Note. Idle mixture is controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Idle speed is preset by manufacturer and is not adjustable.
