Preliminary Procedures Open both side doors in order to remove the rocker panel front molding assembly. Remove the rear rocker panel molding assembly. Refer to Rocker Panel Rear Molding Replacement
1Rocker Panel Front Molding Screw (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Remove the 2 front rocker panel screws. Release the 6 lower rocker molding retainers. Release the 11 upper rocker molding retainers. Tighten: 1.5 N.m (13 lb in)

Scheme 3: Radiator Grille Emblem/Nameplate Replacement

1Emblem Assembly (Crest) Procedure The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength. Use a J 25070 Heat Gun or equivalent to remove the old emblem. See Special Tools . Clean all adhesive from grille and wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing the new emblem. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion. Align the three pins on the crest to the holes in the grille. Using the palm of the hand, carefully wet out the emblem to the grille and ensure full adhesion of the emblem is made.
2Emblem Assembly (Wreath) Procedure The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength. Use a J 25070 Heat Gun or equivalent to remove the old emblem. See Special Tools . Clean all adhesive from grille and wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing the new emblem. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion. Align the three pins on the wreath to the holes in the grille. Using the palm of the hand, carefully wet out the emblem to the grille and ensure full adhesion of the emblem is made.

Position and adhere the new nameplate to the liftgate. Using the palm of the hand, wet out the nameplate to the liftgate to ensure full adhesion of the nameplate is made. Scheme 8: Radiator Upper Grille Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
1Radiator Upper Grille Assembly WARNING: Use the proper eye protection when drilling to prevent metal chips from causing physical injury. Procedure Disconnect the headlamp washer hose from the lower edge of the upper radiator grille (if equipped). Remove the push pins from each upper left and right hand corner of the upper grille. Remove the rivet from each left and right hand corner of the upper grille assembly. Pull the grille assembly rearward from the retainer tabs on the inside of the front bumper fascia. Transfer the radiator grille emblem/nameplate. Refer to Radiator Grille Emblem/Nameplate Replacement .

Scheme 10: Front Side Door Lower Molding Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: Open either the driver or passenger door to assist in removal of the front side lower door molding.
1Front Side Lower Door Molding Retainer (Qty: 9) Procedure: Release the lower retainers working upward on the molding.
2Double Sided Adhesive Molding Tape Procedure Clean all tape residue from the exterior door panel prior to installing the new front side lower door molding. The new molding must be at least 66°F (19°C) prior to installing the front side lower door molding to the body panel. Close the front door. Remove the protective liner from the adhesive tape. Be careful not to touch the adhesive tape with hands or allow molding to come in contact with any dirt or foreign material prior to adhesion. Align the 9 retainer clips to the holes in the door. Apply hand pressure to secure the 9 molding retainer clips to the door.
3Front Lower Door Molding Assembly Tip: Ensure the door is in the closed position prior to installing the front lower molding to the door.

Scheme 11: Hood Front Molding Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: Raise and support the hood.
1Hood Front Molding Tip: Upon installation, insert one side of the molding to the hood and work across the molding securing the individual nuts.
2Hood Front Molding Nut (Qty: 6) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 2.5 N.m (22 lb in) Tip: Release the retainers beginning from one side working towards the opposite side.

1Rear Side Lower Door Molding Retainer (Qty: 7) Procedure: Release the lower retainers working upward on the molding.
2Double Sided Adhesive Molding Tape Procedure Clean all tape residue from the exterior door panel prior to installing the new rear lower door molding. The new molding must be at least 66°F (19°C) prior to installing the molding to the body panel. Close the rear door. Remove protective liner from the adhesive tape. Be careful not to touch the adhesive tape with hands or allow molding to come in contact with any dirt or foreign material prior to adhesion. Align the 7 retainer clips to the holes in the door. Apply hand pressure to secure the 7 molding retainer clips to the door.
3Rear Side Door Lower Molding Tip: Ensure the rear door is in the closed position when installing the new lower door molding.

Scheme 14: Roof Panel Molding Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: Remove one side of the luggage carrier side rail (if equipped). Refer to Luggage Carrier Side Rail Replacement .
1Roof Panel Molding Procedure Lift the forward and rear edge of the roof panel molding from the retention clip in the roof ditch. Release the molding from the full length of the roof ditch. Clean the roof ditch with a 50/50 mixture by volume of clean drinkable water and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the roof ditch is clean and dry. Position the forward edge of the roof panel molding into the retainer clip and the front edge at the upper windshield. Using a roller-type tool, secure the roof panel molding into the roof ditch working front to the rear, securing to the rear retainer clip. Install the luggage carrier side rail. Refer to Luggage Carrier Side Rail Replacement .

4Rear Spoiler Procedure Release the button clips from the upper outer liftgate panel. Close the rear liftgate in order to remove the spoiler assembly. Remove the rear washer hose nozzle. Refer to Rear Window Washer Nozzle Replacement . Disconnect the electrical connector for the rear high mounted stop lamp. Remove the rear center high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement and transfer. Ensure all the foam gaskets are in place on the button clips and retainer bolts prior to re-assembly of the spoiler onto the liftgate panel.
