Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
Tools Required : J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to «REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING»(/buick/park-avenue/ii-2002-2005/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-ventilation-and-air-conditioning__refrigerant-recovery-and-recharging) .
- Remove the evaporator A/C compressor hose clip.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose to accumulator nut.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
- Disconnect the A/C hose retaining clip (1) at the frame rail.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose bolt.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C pressure sensor.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose to A/C compressor nut.
- Remove the A/C compressor hose from the vehicle.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the vehicle.
- Connect the A/C hose to the compressor. NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the A/C hose to compressor nut. Tighten Tighten the nut to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the A/C pressure switch.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
- Install the A/C compressor hose bolt. Tighten Tighten the bolt to 24 N.m (18 lb ft). IMPORTANT: If the clip was damaged during removal, install a new clip.
- Install the A/C compressor hose into the clip on the frame rail and fasten the clip.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
- Install the A/C compressor hose to accumulator nut. Tighten Tighten the nut to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the upper A/C compressor hose clip.
- Recharge the A/C system. Refer to «REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING»(/buick/park-avenue/ii-2002-2005/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-ventilation-and-air-conditioning__refrigerant-recovery-and-recharging) .
- Leak test the component fittings using the J 39400-A.
