35 11 000 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Complete Bearing Block for Foot Pedal
Necessary preliminary tasks
- Remove pedal trim. Refer to «51 45 185 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING PANEL FOR PEDALS»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#body-equipment-repair__51-45-185-removing-and-installingreplacing)
| IMPORTANT | After completion of work, carry out function check. |
Release screws (1).
Remove air duct (2).
Scheme 111
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Remove locking clip (2) and pull out locking pin in direction of arrow.
Scheme 112
Unscrew nuts (1).
Installation
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tighten nuts (1) such that bearing block can still be moved.
Make sure bearing block is correctly seated on body.
Tighten nuts (1).
Tightening torque. Refer to 35 11 PEDAL ASSEMBLY CONSOLE .
Scheme 113
Remove left partition wall for equipment compartment. Refer to 51 71 ... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ASSEMBLY COMPARTMENT PARTITION WALL
Unclip retaining bar (1) and remove both brake lines (2) from guides.
Pull brake master cylinder with brake booster 30 mm forwards.
| IMPORTANT | Do not bend brake lines. |
Installation
Retighten brake lines on brake master cylinder.
Tightening torque. Refer to 34 32 BRAKE LINES .
Feed out bearing block for pedal assembly.
Replacement
Replace brake light switch. Refer to 61 31 310 REPLACING BRAKE-LIGHT SWITCH

35 21 041 Replacing Spring for Brake Pedal
- Remove bearing block for pedal assembly. Refer to «35 11 000 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Complete Bearing Block for Foot Pedal»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical-hydraulic/#pedals-repair__35-11-000-removing-and-installing)
Disconnect return spring (1).
Note. Check grommet (2) for damage, replace if necessary.

35 40 001 Removing and Installing/Replacing Accelerator Pedal Module
Take off cap.
Release screw.
Pull accelerator pedal module upwards out of fixture.
Installation
Tightening torque. Refer to 35 40 PEDALS .

Pull off plug (1).
Remove accelerator pedal module.
Scheme 117
| IMPORTANT | Accelerator pedal module can only be replaced completely with adapter plate. |
