TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Note. Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. Bolted connections should only be torqued to specification once vehicle is resting on its own weight.

CAUTIONAlways replace self-locking bolts/nuts. Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.

(1) Always use NEW fasteners. Always replace self-locking nuts. (2) Tighten axle shaft nut with wheels touching ground. (3) Before removing bolts note installation position. (4) Ensure longitudinal control arm is at correct position in mounting bracket before tightening bolt. (Scheme 25) (5) Initially tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (20 N.m), then with vehicle weight on its wheels tighten to specifications plus an additional 90°. (6) Tighten while vehicle is on ground with assistant seated in rear seat. (7) Tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m)

(5)Initially tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (20 N.m), then with vehicle weight on its wheels tighten to specifications plus an additional 90°.
(6)Tighten while vehicle is on ground with assistant seated in rear seat.
(7)Tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m)
