If specified value "Syst. OK" is obtained

  1. Press C button.

Operation 15: Read readiness code

  1. Read readiness code. Refer to «Readiness code, reading»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/fuel-system/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-bea__readiness-code-reading) .

To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, always observe the following

  1. Only disconnect and reconnect wires for injection and ignition system, including test leads, when ignition is turned off.
  2. If engine is to be cranked at starting RPM without starting (e.g. for compression testing), disconnect connector from ignition coils and from fuel injectors.
  3. It is possible that the control module will recognize a malfunction and store a DTC during some tests. After completing all tests and repairs, DTC memory should therefore be checked and erased if necessary. Readiness code must be generated after DTC memory is erased. Refer to «Readiness code, generating»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/fuel-system/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-bea__readiness-code-generating) .
  4. Always switch ignition off before cleaning engine.
  1. The battery must only be disconnected and connected with the ignition switched off, since the Engine Control Module (ECM) can otherwise be damaged.

If special testing equipment is required during road test, note the following

WARNINGTo reduce the risk of accident during road tests, always proceed as follows: Audi TT Coupe: Use only the VAS5051 tester or the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) to read measuring value blocks. Always secure scan tool to the rear seat and have operated from there by a second technician. Due to limited space, the passenger seat must be adjusted as far forward as possible and the seatback adjusted to the forward-most engaged position using the hand wheel. Do not use the seatback release lever for this purpose. Audi TT Roadster: Use only the VAG1552 mobile scan tool with passenger-side airbag switched off. Deactivate the passenger-side airbag using the key switch in the glove compartment or via On Board Diagnostic (OBD). Refer to 01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) ; Adaptation: Passenger side airbag unit, activating and deactivating. Switch on passenger-side airbag after completing work.
