  1. Bumper NOTE: On vehicles with headlamp washer system, hose line from washer fluid reservoir must be clamped off using a 3094. Removing -- Unclip covers -2- and -9- -- Remove bolts -3-; -4-; -5- and -6-. -- Loosen wheel housing liner in nut area -10- and pull back (Scheme 24) -- Remove zero gap connection nuts -10-. -- Remove the lower screws from the noise insulation in the bumper area. -- Unclip bumper sideways from guide pieces and pull forward slightly. -- Remove electrical wire to fog lamp, clamp off line to headlamp washer system if necessary. -- Bumper completely from vehicle Installing -- Use markings on radiator grille -arrow- for exact adjustment lengthwise. -- When installing, tighten upper bolts on bumper in -3-; -4-; -5- and -6- sequence.

When installing, retaining tabs -arrows- must engage completely in bumper.

Unscrew the screws -arrows- and pull back the wheel housing liner in the lower area.

Remove the left front wheel spoiler. Refer to FRONT WHEEL SPOILER

Release the securing clamp -arrow - and remove washer fluid line -1- on connecting piece -2-.

Seal the connecting piece of the washer fluid line with a clean plug from the VAS 6122.

Remove the bolts -arrows-.

Unscrew screws -1, 2, 3, 5- and nuts -6- and -7-.

Remove the bumper rear edge from the guide piece/fender -arrow-.

Remove bumper -4- in a forward direction.

Installation

  1. Tightening specifications, refer to item (Scheme 13).

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Use the markings -arrow- on the radiator grille for exact adjustment in the longitudinal direction.

Tighten the screws in the sequence -1-4-.

FRONT BUMPER GUIDE PIECE

IMPACT ABSORBER

Remove bumper. Refer to FRONT BUMPER .

Remove garage door opener control module -J530- -2- if applicable. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation .

Detach shock absorber -1- from the impact member -arrow A- and remove it toward the front -arrow B-.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Unscrew screws -2- and remove clamping washers -3-.

Remove the impact bar -1-.

Note. Prior to removal of the bumper, the tail lamps must be removed.

Remove the screws -arrows- from the wheel housing liner and remove expanding clip -3-.

To remove the expanding clip, press in clamping pin -1- carefully by dimension -x- until it audibly engages in the expanding clip -arrow A-.

  1. Dimension -x- = 5 mm

Pull out unlocked expanding clip -2- with the clamping pin.

Bend heat shield -2- back slightly in the area of the screws.

Remove the bolt -1-.

Remove the right luggage compartment side trim. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Disconnect fog lamp electrical harness connector -1-.

In the case of vehicles with a parking aid, disconnect electrical harness connector -2-.

Unclip cover strip -2- on upper bumper -1- from the locking mechanisms -arrows - and remove.

Remove the bolt -2-.

Remove the bumper laterally toward the outside from the body -arrow A-.

Disengage the bumper from the clips by releasing retaining tabs -1-.

Disengage the bumper on the rear guide piece from the clips by releasing retaining tabs -3-.

Note. If retaining tabs -3- cannot be released, the strip on the guide piece must be carefully lifted -arrow B-.

Thread the electrical wiring harness out of the body opening and remove the bumper.

Installation

  1. For the correct tightening specifications, refer to «REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers-coupe) .

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

The bumper must engage completely.

Install the rear wheel housing liner. Refer to REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

REAR BUMPER SPOILER

Remove screw -4- on the left and right.

Remove screws -1- and -2- on the lower trim.

Remove lower trim -3- on the rear bumper -arrows-.

Remove spoiler -2- on lower trim -1- -arrows-.

Remove Radio frequency controlled clock receiver -J489- -1- if applicable. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation .

Remove the bolts -arrows-.

Remove inner guide piece -2-.

Installation

  1. For the correct tightening specifications (Scheme 18)

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Tighten the screws in the sequence -1-3-.

Install the bumper. Refer to REAR BUMPER .
