Headlamp removed, refer to «[For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/accessories-equipment/#exterior-lights-switches-general-information-roadster) -- Remove the front bumper: Audi TT: «FRONT BUMPER»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers-roadster__front-bumper) , Audi TT RS: «FRONT BUMPER»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers-roadster) -- Remove wheel housing liner. Refer to «FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/mirrors/#exterior-equipment-roadster) . -- End plate, removing, refer to «NOISE INSULATION FRAME»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#body-front-roadster) -- Remove bolts and remove fender. Installation: in reverse order.

2. Engine mount brace Remove nut -5- and bolts -3-.

6. Special bolt Do not remove for brace removal. 1. Lock washer Secures the impact member and must not be loosened to remove the lock carrier.

3. Side impact bar Must not be removed from bumper bracket with removing lock carrier.

5. Lock carrier NOTE: Water cooler coolant must not be drained for removal and installation. A/C system refrigerant circuit on condenser must not be opened. Refer to «[For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/accessories-equipment/#exterior-lights-switches-general-information-roadster) -- Disconnect the control cable for the front lid lock from the coupling: Audi TT: «FRONT HOOD LOCK RELEASE CABLE»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#hood-lids-roadster) Audi TT RS: «HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE MOUNT»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/exterior-body-panels/#hood-lids-roadster__hood-lock-control-cable-mount) -- Remove bolts -2- on longitudinal member. NOTE: The impact member is secured to the lock carrier with clamping washers -1- and is not removed. -- Remove bolts -6- on fender and bolts -4-. -- Remove lock carrier toward front. Installation: in reverse order.

Scheme 147

1. Hood seal When installed correctly, seal must lie over plenum chamber cover as shown in the illustration.
2. Plenum chamber cover Wiper arms removed. NOTE: For easier removal/installation, spray windshield edge strip with soapy solution. Lid seal removed. Remove trim panel upward diagonally from edge strip beginning at window edge. Vehicles with bolts (Scheme 148) CAUTION: Risk of window breaking during installation Do not hit the trim when installing it. Carefully press in trim sideways, beginning in edge strip.
3. Molding For easier removal/installation of plenum chamber cover, spray molding with soapy solution. No replacement part
4. Windshield
5. Plenum chamber
6. Bulkhead trim

Remove the bolts -3- and -4-.

Remove rubber seal -1-.

Pull plenum chamber cover -2- vertically up from the window edge starting carefully with the windshield catches -arrows-.

Scheme 149

1. Engine mount brace If brace must be removed from bracket, remove bolts -2-. WARNING: When installing, reinforcement -3- must be slid into brace -1-.
2. Bolt 23 Nm When tightening to torque, counterhold at nut -5- with open end wrench.

To remove, only loosen bolts -2- and slide brace forward out of elongated holes.

1. End plate -- Remove front wheel. -- Remove wheel housing liner. Refer to «FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER»(/audi/tt/8j-2006-2010/remont/mirrors/#exterior-equipment-roadster) . Fluid reservoir, loosening -- Remove plugs -3- and slide end plate -1- out downward.
