Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface, Component Overview
General Information
Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533 interlinks the various CAN bus systems in the vehicle.
For example, it transmits data from the engine control module system CAN bus) to the instrument cluster (instrument cluster CAN bus).
Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding".

Removing
Scheme 2
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions".
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove the front ashtray insert - 1 - , press button - arrow - to do so.
Scheme 3
- Unscrew bolt - arrow - and remove front ashtray housing.
- Disconnect connector.
Scheme 4
- Pull off center console switch panel upward - arrows -.
- Disconnect connectors.
Scheme 5
- Remove bolt - arrow - and detach Access/Start Authorization Button E408 or Driver Identification Control Module J589 - item 1 -.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
