Multi-function buttons, removing and installing

CAUTIONThis section refers to components of the communication systems available in Europe and not all apply to communication systems used in USA and Canada.
CAUTIONSwitch off all electrical components. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Removing

  1. Remove drivers airbag --> «69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS»(ref-289222-S04302948112008062700000) .
  2. Pull off decorative ring from steering wheel.

  1. Disconnect harness connector - 1 - at button - 2 -.
  2. Slide button - 2 - out of steering wheel in - direction of arrow -.
  3. Turn the button around.

  1. Disconnect harness connector - 2 - to Tiptronic switch at multi-function button - 1 - and remove it.

Installing

  1. Install in reverse order.

Removing and installing the left multi-function button is identical.
