1 - Deformation element

1. Removing

Note. The battery must be disconnected when the ignition is switched on.

1. Switch on ignition.
2. Disconnect the battery ground strap.
3. Remove sun visor --> «Sun Visor, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S12055439742008062700000) .
4. Remove roof grab handles --> «Roof Grab Handle, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S21166990762008062700000) .

1. Remove upper trim on A-pillar --> «Upper A-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S27868240432008062700000) .
2. Remove garment hook --> «Garment Hook, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S41891949612008062700000) .
3. Remove D-pillar trim --> «D-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S24106604032008062700000) .
4. Remove rear shelf --> «Rear Shelf, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S01179624912008062700000) .

1. Remove head-level airbag --> «Side Curtain Airbag, Removing and Installing»(ref-289222-S00101512362008062700000) .
2. Remove nuts - 2 - (3x).
3. Remove deformation element - 1 -.

1. Installing

1. Install deformation element - 1 - in reverse order of removal.

2 - Nuts (qty. 4)

1. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
