Vehicle must stand on a firm and level surface to perform the calibration. No persons may be in the vehicle interior during the measurement. Vehicle must not be moved during the measurement, opening and closing of vehicle doors is to be avoided. The rear lid is closed.

Connect.
Bring the Steering Angle Sensor G85 into 0-position (wheels straight ahead).

Setting up measuring device

Check which hole circle the rims have.
Equip wheel pick-ups appropriately.
To do so, secure three wheel bolt adapters in the hole circle to each wheel pick-up.
Attach paddles to both wheel pick-ups and secure them with clamping screw.

Set the wheel pick-ups on to wheel mounting bolts at the rear wheels.

When doing this, the wheel pick-ups are positioned by the "O-rings" in the adapters and held in place.

Note. Attach wheel pick-ups onto wheels so that any installed "anti-theft" wheel mounting bolts are not connected to the wheel pick-ups.

Set the paddles via the clamping screw so that they are free to move just above the ground.

Ensure paddles move easily.

Position calibration platform behind vehicle at a distance of 1.47 m -1.90 m from rear wheels, as depicted in overview - dimension A -.
Bring calibration platform to a horizontal position.

Twist plastic feet under calibration platform so that air bubble in spirit level is located exactly in the center of the indicator - arrow -.

Switch on laser - 1 - on calibration platform and align entire calibration platform so that laser beam hits center of Audi rings.
Switch Distance Laser VAS 6350/2 on with ON button.

The following display appears and laser is switched on.

Hold Distance Laser VAS 6350/2 - 2 - as shown in illustration on one side of calibration platform flush in bracket, laser must lie firmly on bracket when doing so.
Ensure laser beam from Distance Laser VAS 6350/2 hits lower, enlarged part of paddle - 1 -.

If this is not the case, paddles must be corrected accordingly via clamping screws on the wheel pick-ups.

With one hand, hold the Distance Laser VAS 6350/2 firmly in the bracket on the calibration platform while the laser beam is visible on the paddle.
Now press the ON button briefly for the distance measurement.

Display readout

Note the value read off.
Repeat measuring procedure in the same manner for the rear wheel on the other side of the calibration platform.

The value read off for distance must be identical on both sides.

If values are not identical

Adjust calibration platform until values on both sides are identical.

When aligning the calibration platform, make sure the calibration platform laser beam still strikes the center of the Audi rings and the indicator of the spirit level remains centered. If necessary, make further corrections.

Scheme 202

Measure height of calibration platform, dimension - H - (top edge platform - floor).

The measured distance and height must now be entered in the Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A in "millimeters".

In Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A , select "Guided Functions".

In Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A , select "Guided Fault Finding".

Select the corresponding vehicle data in the "vehicle selection" menu.
Select "Rear view camera system".
Select "Functions".
Select "Calibration".
