01L Transaxle

  1. Place drain pan under transmission oil pan. Ensure ATF temperature is not higher than 86° F (30° C). Open drain plug (1). (Scheme 6) Allow ATF to drain. Replace "O" ring for ATF filler plug. Install ATF drain plug. Tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(/audi/s8/d2-2-2002-2003/remont/automatic-trans/#servicing-at-01l-awd__torque-specifications).
  2. Remove ATF filler plug (2). (Scheme 6) Add ATF using filler nozzle from (V.A.G. 1924). Fill until excess ATF escapes through ATF filler hole.
  3. Put selector lever in "P" position and run engine at idle. Add more ATF until excess escapes through hole for ATF filler plug (2). With brake pedal pushed down, and engine at idle, move selector lever through all position. (P, R, N, D, 4, 3 and 2). Hold selector lever in each position for approximately 10 seconds.
