Checking

1. Remove side trim of center console on driver or front passenger side, respectively. «INTERIOR TRIM»(/audi/s8/d2-2-2002-2003/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#interior-trim) .

1. The cross-section of the condensation drain hose must not be constricted by the insulation mat. It must be possible to fit the hose onto the connection of the air conditioner housing without any stress. Re-position insulation mat, if necessary.
2. The condensation drain hose must be properly seated on the connection for the condensation outlet at the air conditioner housing (secure with hose tie, if necessary).
3. When installed, the condensation drain valve -A- must not be touching the heat deflector plate (when valve removed, check whether sufficient clearance exists between the floor panel of the center tunnel and the heat deflector plate).
4. The condensation drain valve must not be sticking as a result of wax or underbody sealant and must close properly.
5. If complaints are received regarding moisture in passenger compartment, use a wire to check whether condensation outlets of A/C system are soiled and clean, if necessary.

Note. If complaints are received regarding moisture in passenger compartment, check the drain hose -A-, the relevant valve -B- and the area below the air conditioner housing -C- for soiling. Remove electronics box-plenum if necessary; illustration shows drain hose on removed components. (Scheme 78)

Scheme 62

1. Remove side trim of center console on driver and passenger side, respectively.
2. Remove condensation drain hose from air conditioner housing and pull out of the center tunnel.

Note. Push condensation drain valve -A- through the floor panel of the center tunnel. Lock rib -B- fully in the panel of the center tunnel.
