Grease joint again when replacing protective joint boot.

1 - Bolt

1. Always replace if removed
2. Loosen «Remove drive axle»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__remove-drive-axle)
3. Fastening «Install drive axle»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__install-drive-axle)
4. Torque specification «Install drive axle»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__install-drive-axle) .

2 - Outer constant velocity joint

1. Replace only as a unit
2. Removing «Outer CV joint, removing»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__outer-cv-joint-removing)
3. Installing «Outer CV joint, installing»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__outer-cv-joint-installing)
4. Greasing «Grease quantity and type»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering)

1. Checking --> «Outer constant velocity (CV) joint, checking»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering)
2. When installing joint on profile shaft, profile shaft splines must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.

3 - Circlip

1. Always replace
2. Insert before mounting in ring groove (not visible with joint installed)

4 - Clamp

1. Replace

5 - Outer constant velocity protective joint boot

1. Check for tears and chafing, replace if necessary
2. In case of damage, check outer constant velocity joint --> «Outer constant velocity (CV) joint, checking»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering)
3. Before clamping hose clamps, raise protective joint boot briefly to balance pressure.
4. Sealing surfaces must be free of grease when installing.

1. Exterior diameter: 100 mm
2. Replace only as a unit

4. Installing «Inner CV joint, installing»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__inner-cv-joint-installing)

1. Greasing «Grease quantity and type»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering)
2. Adhesive surface must be free of oil and grease
3. Checking --> «Inner constant velocity (CV) joint, checking»(/audi/s4/b8-2008-2011/remont/axle-shafts/#suspension-wheels-steering__inner-constant-velocity-cv-joint-checking)
4. When installing joint on profile shaft, profile shaft splines must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.
