WATER DRAIN HOSES, CLEANING

Note. For cleaning, it is recommended that you create your own assisting tool that resembles a speedometer inner cable in size and flexibility and is approximately 8 feet (2300 mm) in length or an equivalent tool.

Scheme 9

1. Front Water Drain Hose Front water drain hoses run into A-pillars and end under wheel housing liners. Cleaning takes place from sunroof frame.
2. Sunroof Frame
3. Rear Water Drain Hose Rear water drain hoses are routed in C-pillars and end in wheel housing above wheel housing liner. Cleaning is performed at lower end of hose.

Scheme 10

After installing sunroof frame, connect water drain hose -2- to connecting piece -1- on frame.

Secure water drain hose with cable ties -3-.

1. Sunroof Frame
2. Trim -- Position panel -1-. -- Unclip trim at center, moving it to side.
3. Panel 1 Removal: -- Position panel. -- Remove trim -2- sideways from tilting mechanism. -- Remove screws -4- and remove panel upward. CAUTION: Do not move the sunroof when the cover is removed otherwise this will damage, for example, scratch, the wind deflector. Installing: -- Lay panel in installation position on tilting mechanism and lightly install screws -3-. -- Close panel and adjust it according to gap pattern. -- Tighten the front screws first and then the rear screws -4- alternating from side to side. -- Then tighten the center screws to 4.5 Nm. -- Press trim onto tilting mechanisms again. -- Perform an adaptation. Refer to MOTOR ADAPTATION .
4. Screws CAUTION: Pay close attention to the three tightening sequences >>front, rear and center<<. 4.5 Nm

Cover Tightening Sequence -1

Tighten the screws to the tightening specification in sequence 1, 2 and 3 after adjusting.

1. Sunroof Frame
2. Spacer Discs
3. Bolt 4.5 Nm
4. Panel 2 Removal: NOTE: Before removing panel -2-, panel -3- must be removed. -- After removing panel -3-, guide panel -1- all the way back. NOTE: Push rotary switch beyond comfort setting. -- Remove left and right screws -3- from above. NOTE: There are two spacer discs -2- under attachment points to adjust cover -2- height. Remove these after panel has also be removed so they do not fall into guide channels and disrupt function. -- Run panel 1 into tilted position. -- Remove left and right screws -5- from tilting mechanism rail. NOTE: Small markings are applied to plastic edge of panel that make it easier to find screw positions PANEL . -- Pull trim in slightly and remove screws below. -- Remove panel upward. -- When installing, proceed as follows: CAUTION: Before inserting panel 2, reinsert spacer discs at front attachment points between cover attachment surfaces -2- and sunroof frame. -- Insert panel according to its attachment positions. -- Lightly pull inner seal inward and lightly tighten side screws. -- Insert rear panel 3 and lightly tighten screws. -- Close panel 3. -- Run panel 1 into tilted position. -- Lightly install front screws from above through spacer discs. -- Close panel 1. -- Adjust panel 2 according to gap chart. -- Tighten the screws on the side -5- to 4.5 Nm. -- Run panel 1 into tilted position. -- Tighten front screws to 4.5 Nm. -- Close panel 1 and panel 3 and check adjustment. Refer to GLASS SUNROOF PANEL, ADJUSTING . -- Perform an adaptation on Panels 1 and 3. Refer to MOTOR ADAPTATION .
5. Bolt 4.5 Nm

Panel 2 Spacer Discs

Scheme 13

Distance disc must be inserted between panel 2 and sunroof frame -4- for height adjustment.

Scheme 14

Note. There are small markings on panel edges to make it easier to find panel securing screws.

Lightly pull inner seal back under markings -arrow- and remove screws below.

Note. Inner seal is not shown in illustration.

Scheme 15

1. Sunroof Frame
2. Trim Removal: -- Position panel 3. -- Unclip trim in center and move slightly to side. -- Slide trim back until it can be removed from keyhole-shaped hole. Installing: -- Installation of each trim panel occurs in reverse sequence. This engages trim in panel.
3. Panel 3 Removal: -- Position panel -3-. NOTE: Small markings (3 each) applied to plastic edge of panel that make it easier to find screw positions PANEL . -- For removal, remove side securing screws. -- Remove panel -3- upward. -- Installing: -- Insert cover with tilted tilting mechanism according to attachment points. -- Lightly tighten side screws on panel 3. -- Close cover and check adjustment. Refer to GLASS SUNROOF PANEL, ADJUSTING -- Perform an adaptation -3- on the panel. Refer to MOTOR ADAPTATION . -- Insert side trim panels.
4. Bolt 4.5 Nm

Trim, Removing

Position panel.

Pull trim -1- slightly to side with small hook in center.

Slide trim panel back slightly and remove it sideways from panel.

Installing Panel

When installing, insert the trim into the key hole -arrow- and push it forward.

Press side trim panel into catch on panel.
