Headlamp Range Control Module, Removing and Installing
- Component location: On instrument panel support behind instrument cluster.
Removing
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions".
- Remove instrument cluster --> «Instrument Cluster, Removing and Installing»(ref-289227-S38690257172008062700000) .
Scheme 296
- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove bracket - 1 - for Headlamp Range Control Module J431 from instrument panel support.
Scheme 297
- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.
- Remove nuts - arrows - and detach Headlamp Range Control Module J431 - item 1 -.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following
- Install instrument cluster --> «Instrument Cluster, Removing and Installing»(ref-289227-S38690257172008062700000) .
Tightening Specifications

Contact corrosion can occur if incorrect fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) are used.
For this reason, only fasteners with a special surface coating are used.
In addition, rubber or plastic parts and adhesive consist of non-conductive materials.
If there are doubts as to whether parts are suitable or not, use new parts .
