- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool and select address word 03 for "Brake electronics". See «VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING AND ENTERING ADDRESS WORD»(/audi/a6/c5-1997-2001/remont/anti-locktraction-control/#brake-system-on-board-diagnostic-obd-abs-esp__vag-1551-scan-tool-connecting-and) .
- Go to start position of program by pressing --> button

- Press buttons -0- and -1- for the function "Check Control Module Versions" and confirm entry with -Q- button.
Note. The control module version can only be altered by installing a new control module. Also refer to the parts catalog for the correct ABS control module (w/EDL) -J104- for the vehicle.
