LANE CHANGE ASSISTANCE CONTROL MODULE, CALIBRATING

Special tools and workshop equipment required

1. Calibration Tool VAS 6350

Conditions

The lane change assistance control module must be calibrated in the "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" operating mode under the following conditions

1. The lane change assistance control module -J769- or lane change assistance control module 2 -J770- was replaced.
2. The rear bumper was damaged.
3. The rear bumper was removed and installed.
4. The DTC "no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation" is stored in the DTC memory.

Procedure

Place the vehicle on a solid, level surface.

Activate the parking brake - vehicle must not move during measurement.

Place the front wheels in the straight ahead position - steering wheel in 0 position.

Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester.

Note. If a malfunction message appears in the display, refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester operating instructions.

Turn on the ignition.

Remove the sticker with metal foil from the bumper cover if necessary.

Secure three wheel bolt adapters on each -VAS 6350/1-.

Insert the measuring paddle on both -VAS 6350/1- and secure with lock nuts.

Place the -VAS 6350/1- on the wheel bolts on both rear wheels.

1. Wheel center sensor rotation center must be in wheel rotation center.

Note. Place the -VAS 6350/1- on wheels so that "anti-theft wheel bolts" are not connected with wheel center sensor.

Adjust the measuring paddle with aid of lock nuts so that they move freely just above the floor.

1. The measuring paddles must move easily.
2. The measuring paddles must be vertical.

Position the VAS 6350 at distance -a- from the rear wheels.

Note. The following information clarifies which version of the lane change assist is installed (version SWA1.7). This information for adjusting the calibration device is important for later steps in the procedure to avoid malfunctions.

Secure the -VAS 6350/4- at the rear right of the VAS 6350 mount.

3. People should not sit in the vehicle.
4. People should not go between the vehicle and the -VAS 6350/4-.

Removing

Carefully pry the interior/reading lamp -1- out of the roof opening -arrow- using the 80 - 200.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Insert the interior/reading lamp into the roof cutout and clip.

Removing

Release the interior lamp lens -1- using the 80 - 200.

Remove the bulb -2 or 3- (12V, 5 W) from the socket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

REAR INTERIOR/READING LAMP BULB

Removing

Release the interior/reading lamp lens -1- using the 3409 -arrow-.

Remove the bulb -2 or 3- (12V, 5 W) from the socket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Press on the lens for the interior lamp until it engages.

SUNROOF ADJUSTMENT REGULATOR -E139

Removing

Remove the interior lamp/ front reading lamp. Refer to INTERIOR LAMP/FRONT READING LAMP .

Disconnect the electrical connector -2-.

Remove the bolts -arrows-.

Remove the sunroof adjustment regulator -item 1- from the front interior lamp/reading lamp.

Installing

1. Tightening specification, refer to «Sunroof Adjustment Regulator Bolt Tightening Specification»(/audi/a4/b8-2007-2012/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#interior-lights-switches-avant) .

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Install the interior lamp/front reading lamp. Refer to INTERIOR LAMP/FRONT READING LAMP .

VANITY MIRROR ILLUMINATION BULB

Removing

Using a flat bladed screwdriver, carefully pry the vanity mirror lamp out at the opening -arrow-.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the cover -arrow- to replace the bulb.

Scheme 311

Remove the bulb from the socket on the rear side of the vanity mirror lamp.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

VANITY MIRROR LIGHT CONTACT SWITCH

The vanity mirror contact switch is located in the sun visor mount and cannot be replaced separately if faulty.

Replace sun visor. Refer to Removal and Installation .

TRAILER HITCH SOCKET

TOWING RECOGNITION CONTROL MODULE

Removing

If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions". Refer to the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.

Select the function or path

Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnostic tester display.

Open the luggage compartment right side trim.

Release retaining clips -arrow- and tilt the towing recognition control module -J345- -item 1- out of the retaining frame.

Disconnect the electrical connectors -2 and 3-.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

ALARM HORN

Removing

Vehicles through 05.08

Unclip the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2- and remove them.

Note. Ignore -item 3- and the -arrow-.

Vehicles from 06.08

Scheme 314

Remove the bolts -3-.

Remove the clips -2- from the mounts and remove the plenum chamber cover -1-.

Continuation for All Vehicles

Remove the nut -3-.

Disconnect the electrical connector -1-.

Remove the alarm horn -H12- -item 2- upward.

Installing

1. Tightening specification, refer to «ULTRASONIC INTERIOR MONITORING OVERVIEW»(/audi/a4/b8-2007-2012/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#interior-lights-switches-avant) .

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Engage the retaining tab in the opening on the bracket.

ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM SENSOR

1. The interior monitoring control module 1 -G303- and Inclination sensor/anti-theft system control module -J529- were combined in one component, the anti-theft alarm system sensor -G578-.
2. Therefore, the comfort system central control module -J393- has only two "LIN participants" with the "anti-theft warning system" optional equipment.

Removing

Remove the interior lamp/front reading lamp. Refer to INTERIOR LAMP/FRONT READING LAMP .

Release the retaining clips -B arrows- and remove the individual anti-theft alarm system sensor -item 1- from the interior/reading lamp.

Free up the electrical wire -2-.

Release retaining clips -A arrows- and tilt the anti-theft alarm system sensor -G578- -item 3- out of the interior/reading lamp.

Press the retaining clips to the side -A arrows- and remove the anti-theft alarm system sensor -item 1- from the mount -2-.

Scheme 317

Release the retaining clips -B arrows- and press the individual anti-theft alarm system sensors -3- out of the mount.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Install the interior lamp/front reading lamp. Refer to INTERIOR LAMP/FRONT READING LAMP .

INTERIOR MONITORING SWITCH/ALARM SYSTEM DEACTIVATION SWITCH

Removing

Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

Carefully pry the trim -1- out of the door trim -arrow- using a small screwdriver -2-.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Carefully release the retaining hooks -arrows- using a small screwdriver.

Remove the interior monitoring switch -E183- /alarm system deactivation switch -E217- -item 1- out of the trim -2-.

Installing

Install in reverse order.
