DATA BUS ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE

General Information

1. Data bus on board diagnostic interface -J533- interlink the different CAN bus systems in the vehicle.
2. It transmits data from e.g. the engine control module (drivetrain CAN bus) to the instrument cluster (instrument cluster CAN bus).
3. Fault finding is done in Guided Fault Finding.
4. Repairing CAN Bus lines. Refer to General Information .

Removing

If the control module was replaced, select the Replace function for the respective control module in Guided Fault Finding or Guided Functions.

Select the function or path

Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Remove driver's storage compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Remove the screw -arrow- and then remove the air guide -1-.

Scheme 3

Release retaining clips -1- and -6- by pressing them together -arrows-.

Scheme 4

Disengage retaining tab -2- on bracket -3-.

Disconnect the connector -4- and remove the data bus on board diagnostic interface -J533- -item 5-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following

If the data bus on board diagnostic interface was replace, it must be coded again.

Select the function or path

Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.

Install air duct. Refer to Removal and Installation or Removal and Installation .

Install driver's storage compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .
