Driver's Seat
Note. SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.
Scheme 282
Scheme 283
- Remove the driver's seat (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-removalinstallation) ).
- Remove the seat-back panel (see «FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-back-cover-replacement) ).
- Disconnect connector A (3P) and connector B (2P) from the seat heaters.
- Check for continuity between seat heater connector A (3P) terminal No. 3, and seat heater connector B (2P) terminal No. 2. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, replace the seat wire harness.
- Check for continuity between seat heater connector B (2P) terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, replace the seat-back heater (see «SEAT HEATER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seat-heaters) ).
- Check for continuity between seat heater connector A (3P) terminals No. 1 and No. 3, and terminals No. 2 and No. 3. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, replace the seat cushion heater (see «FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seat-heaters__front-seat-cushion-heater) ).
Front Passenger's Seat
Note. SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.
Scheme 284
- Remove the front passenger's seat (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-removalinstallation) ).
- Disconnect the 4P connector from the seat heater.
- Check for continuity between seat heater 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3 and terminals No. 2 and No. 3. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, replace the seat cushion heater (see «FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seat-heaters__front-seat-cushion-heater) ).
Scheme 285
- Remove the rear seat cushion (see «REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats) ).
- Disconnect the 3P connectors (A) from the seat cushion heater.
- Check for continuity between seat cushion heater 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 and terminals No. 2 and No. 3. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, replace the seat cushion heater (see «REAR SEAT CUSHION HEATER»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seat-heaters) ).
Scheme 286
Scheme 287
- Remove the center console panel (see «CENTER CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#consoles__center-console-panel-removalinstallation) ).
- Remove the two screws, and the seat heater switch from the panel.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. NOTE: Make sure the correct test lead (+ or -) is placed on the terminal. When checking for continuity across the diode, use the diode setting (-->-)on the digital volt/ohm meter to check the diode bias. Note this important operating characteristic; diode bias causes a diode to fully conduct electricity in one direction (forward), while not at all in the opposite direction (reverse).
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 288
Scheme 289
- Remove the center console rear trim (see «CENTER CONSOLE REAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#consoles__center-console-rear-trim-removalinstallation) ).
- Remove the two screws, and the seat heater switch from the trim.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. NOTE: Make sure the correct test lead (+ or -) is placed on the terminal. When checking for continuity across the diode, use the diode setting (-->-) on the digital volt/ohm meter to check the diode bias. Note this important operating characteristic; diode bias causes a diode to fully conduct electricity in one direction (forward), while not at all in the opposite direction (reverse).
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

Front Seat Cushion Heater
Note. SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.
Scheme 290
- Remove the front seat cushion cover (see «FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-cushion-cover-replacement) ).
- Carefully remove the seat cushion heater (A) from the seat cushion pad (B). NOTE: The seat cushion heater is glued to the seat cushion pad. When removing it, take care not to damage the seat cushion pad.
- Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
Front Seat Back Heater
Note. SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.

- Remove the front seat-back cover (see «FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-back-cover-replacement) ).
- Carefully remove the seat-back heater (A) from the seat-back pad (B). NOTE: The seat-back heater is glued to the seat-back pad. When removing it, take care not to damage the seat-back pad.
- Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 292
- Remove the rear seat cushion cover (see «REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/seats/#seats__rear-seat-cushion-cover-replacement) ).
