  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
  2. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard) ).
  3. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors D, P, Q, and R. NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
  5. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6. Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained P9 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. Blown No. 15(10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box An open or high resistance in the wire P4 PNK Interior light switch in the DOOR position Connect to ground with a jumper wire: The individual map lights should come on. Blown No. 16 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box Faulty front and/or rear individual map lights An open or high resistance in the wire Q11 (1) ORN Under all conditions Connect to ground with a jumper wire: The remote slot light should come on.   6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
  7. Remove the right kick panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__trim-removalinstallation-door-areas) ).
  8. Disconnect passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors A, E, and H. NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
  9. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 10.
  10. Reconnect the connectors to the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 11.   11. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
  12. Remove the driver's door panel (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/exterior-body-panels/#doors__front-door-panel-removalinstallation) ).
  13. Disconnect the 37P connector from the power window master switch.
  14. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 15.
  15. Reconnect the driver's door harness to driver's door subharness.
  16. Reconnect the 37P connector to the power window master switch, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 17. Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 13 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.   17. If multiple failures are found on more than one control unit, replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (includes the driver's MICU) (see «DRIVER'S UNDER-DASH FUSE/RELAY BOX (MICU) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/fuses-circuit-breakers/#under-dash-fuserelay-box) ). If input failures are related to a particular control unit, replace the control unit.

  1. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard__column-cover-removalinstallation) ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A).
  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, the ignition key switch is faulty; replace the steering lock (see «STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/manual-power-steering/#power-steering-system) ).

Scheme 29: Ignition Key Light Test
  1. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard__column-cover-removalinstallation) ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A).
  3. The LED should come on when power is connected to terminal No. 6 and ground is connected to terminal No. 5.
  4. If the LED does not come on, the ignition key light is faulty; replace the steering lock (see «STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/manual-power-steering/#power-steering-system) ).

Scheme 30: Remote Slot Light Test
  1. Remove the driver's inner dashboard trim (see «DRIVER'S OUTER DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard) ).
  2. Disconnect the 16P connector (A) from the remote slot (B).
  3. The LED should come on when power is connected to terminal No. 1 and ground is connected to terminal No. 10.
  4. If the LED does not come on, the remote slot light is faulty; replace the remote slot control unit (see «ENGINE START/STOP SWITCH TEST/REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#keyless-access-system) ).
