Cruise Control Input Test
- Connect the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) to the data link connector (DLC) (see «HOW TO USE THE HDS (HONDA DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM)»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/auxiliary-emission-control-systems/#fuel-and-emissions-systems__how-to-use-the-hds-honda) ).
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- '07-08 models: Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the engine control module (ECM)/ powertrain control module (PCM). If it doesn't communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see «'07-08 MODELS»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/testing-diagnostics/#pgm-fi-system) ).
- Go to B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A, and check for DTCs (see «TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__troubleshooting-b-can-system-diagnosis-test) ).
- Go to PGM-FI, and check for DTCs (see «PGM-FI SYSTEM»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/testing-diagnostics/#pgm-fi-system) ).
- Do the following tests while monitoring parameters in the PGM-FI DATA LIST with the HDS. NOTE: Intermittent failures are often caused by loose circuit connections. While monitoring cruise control inputs, flex their circuits, and note if any of the test results change. - Remove the driver's airbag (see «DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/airbag/#srs-supplemental-restraint-system) ).
- Remove the two screws, then disconnect the connector, and remove the switch.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to (Scheme 4). If there is continuity, and it matches (Scheme 4), but switch failure occurred on the cruise control input test, check and repair the wire harness on the switch circuit. If there is no continuity in one or both positions, replace the switch.
