Evaporator Temperature Sensor Test
Note. Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs (see HOW TO CHECK FOR DTCS WITH THE HDS ).

- Remove the evaporator temperature sensor (see «EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2011-2014/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#climate-control) ).
- Dip the sensor in ice water, and measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
- Pour warm water on the sensor, and measure the resistance.
- Compare the resistance readings with the specifications shown in the graph in illustration below; the resistance should be within the specifications.
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the evaporator temperature sensor (see «EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2011-2014/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#climate-control) ).

- Remove the passenger's dashboard undercover (see «GLOVE BOX DAMPER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2011-2014/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard__glove-box-damper-replacement) ).
- Disconnect the 5P connector from the power transistor.
- Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 4 of the power transistor. It should be about 1.5 kohms. If the resistance is within the specifications, go to step 4. If the resistance is not within the specifications, replace the power transistor. NOTE: Also check the blower motor. Power transistor failure can be caused by a defective blower motor.
- Reconnect the 5P connector to the power transistor.
- Disconnect climate control unit connector A (32P).
- Connect climate control unit connector A (32P) terminals No. 15 and No. 28 with a jumper wire.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the blower motor runs. If the blower motor does not run, replace the power transistor. NOTE: A faulty blower motor can cause the power transistor to fail. If the power transistor is replaced, also check the blower motor for binding, and replace it if necessary. If the blower motor runs, the power transistor is OK.
