Scheme 8: Roof Console Input Test/Replacement
  1. Turn the map light switch OFF
  2. Open the sung lass holder, then remove the two screws (A)
  3. Disconnect the 20P connector (B) from the roof console (C)
  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system If the terminals look OK, go to step 5
  5. With the connector still disconnected, do these input tests at the following connector If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6 TEST CONDITION INPUT CHART Cavity Wire Test condition Test Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 5 LT GRN Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P) Check for continuity between terminal No 5 and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P) terminal No 4 There should be continuity An open or high resistance in the wire 6 ORN Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) Check for continuity between terminal No 6 and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) terminal No 4 There should be continuity An open or high resistance iin the wire 8 GRN Disconnect the rear individual map lights 10P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 8 and the rear individual map lights 10P connector terminal No 8 There should be continuity An open in the wire 9 YEL Disconnect the rear individual map lights 10P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 9 and the rear individual map lights 10P connector terminal No 9 There should be continuity An open in the wire 2 RED Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 2 and the gauge control module 32P connector terminal No 8 There should be continuity An open or high resistance iin the wire
  6. Reconnect the connector to the roof console, and do these input tests at the following connector If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system If all the input tests prove OK, the roof console must be faulty, replace it TEST CONDITION INPUT CHART Cavity Wire Test condition Test Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 4 BLK In all ignition switch positions or all power modes Measure the voltage to ground There should be less than 0 2V Poor ground(G401) or open in ground wire An open or high resistance in the wire 3 LT BLU Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground There should be battery voltage Blown No 16(7 5 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box An open or high resistance in the wire 1 GRY Combination light switch (SMALL position) ON Measure the voltage to ground There should be battery voltage Blown No 6 (7 5 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box An open or high resistance in the wire

Scheme 9: Rear Individual Map Light Input Test/Replacement
  1. Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver
  2. Remove the two mounting bolts
  3. Disconnect the 10P connector (B) from the rear individual map light (C)
  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system If the terminals look OK, go to step 5
  5. With the connector still disconnected, do these input tests at the following connector If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6 TEST CONDITION INPUT CHART Cavity Wire Test condition Test Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 5 LT GRN Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P) Check for continuity between terminal No 5 and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P) connector terminal No 4 There should be continuity An open or high resistance in the wire 6 ORN Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) Check for continuity between terminal No 6 and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) connector terminal No 4 There should be continuity An open or high resistance in the wire 8 GRN Disconnect the roof console 20P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 8 and the roof console 20P connector terminal No 8 There should be continuity An open in the wire 9 YEL Disconnect the roof console 20P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 9 and the roof console 20P connector terminal No 9 There should be continuity An open in the wire 2 RED Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector Check for continuity between terminal No 2 and the gauge control module 32P connector terminal No 8 There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire
  6. Scheme 10: Trunk Light Test/Replacement
  1. Open the trunk lid
  2. Carefully pry out the trunk light (A) Trunk Light 5W
  3. Disconnect the 2P connector (B) from the light
  4. Check for continuity between terminals No 1 (+) and No 2 (-) There should be continuity If there is no continuity, check the bulb If the bulb is OK, replace the trunk light assembly
  5. Install the light in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 11: Courtesy Light Replacement
  1. Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver Courtesy Light 34 W
  2. Carefully remove the housing (B) from the door panel by prying at the lift point (C), then disconnect the 2P connector (D)
  3. Remove the bulb (E) from the socket
  4. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal Note the direction of the lens lock tabs (F)

Scheme 12: Glove Box Light Replacement
  1. Remove the glove box stops and damper (see «GLOVE BOX DAMPER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#dashboard__glove-box-damper-replacement) )
  2. Carefully pry the glove box light out of the glove box housing
  3. Twist the socket (A) to remove it from the glove box light (B) Glove Box Light 1.4 W
  4. Remove the bulb (C) from the socket
  5. Install the light in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 13: Console Box Light Replacement
  1. Remove the center console (see «CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#consoles__center-console-removalinstallation) )
  2. Carefully pry out the console box light out of the center console
  3. Twist the socket (A) to remove it from the console box light (B) Console Box Light 1.4 W
  4. Remove the bulb (C) from the socket
  5. Install the light in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 14: Vanity Mirror Light Test/Replacement
  1. Remove the sunvisor (see «SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__sunvisor-removalinstallation) )
  2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the sunvisor (B) Vanity Mirror Light 2 W x 2
  3. Check for continuity between terminals No 1 and No 2 With the vanity mirror cover (C) opened, there should be continuity With the vanity mirror cover closed, there should be no continuity
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulbs (D) If the bulbs are OK, replace the sunvisor (see «SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__sunvisor-removalinstallation) )
  5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 15: Driver's
  1. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#dashboard) )
  2. Remove the footwell light (A) from the driver's dashboard undercover
  3. Install the light in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 16: Front Passenger's
  1. Remove the passenger's dashboard undercover (see «GLOVE BOX DAMPER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#dashboard__glove-box-damper-replacement) )
  2. Remove the footwell light (A) from the passenger's dashboard undercover
  3. Install the light in the reverse order of removal

Scheme 17: Trunk Lid Latch Switch Test
  1. Open the trunk lid, and remove the trunk lid trim (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK LID»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__trim-removalinstallation-trunk-lid) )
  2. Disconnect the 3P connector (A) from the trunk lid latch assembly (B)
  3. Check for continuity between terminals No land No 2 There should be continuity with the trunk lid open There should be no continuity with the trunk lid closed
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the trunk lid latch assembly
