  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the powertrain control module (PCM). If it doesn't, troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see «DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING»(/acura/rl/ii-2008-2012/remont/testing-diagnostics/#pgm-fi-system__dlc-circuit-troubleshooting) ).
  4. Check for DTCs (see «GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION»(/acura/rl/ii-2008-2012/remont/auxiliary-emission-control-systems/#fuel-and-emissions-systems) ). If a DTC is present, diagnose and repair the cause before continuing with this test.
  5. With the ignition switch in ON (II), select PGM-FI, and check the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is ON indicated? YES -Replace the gauge control module (see «GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/rl/ii-2008-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#gauges__gauge-control-module-replacement) ). NO -Go to step 6.
