Yaw Rate-Lateral Acceleration Sensor Replacement

Note. Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive. Do not use air or electric impact tools.

Scheme 58: Yaw Rate-Lateral Acceleration Sensor Replacement
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the center console (see «CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#consoles__center-console-removalinstallation) ).
  3. Disconnect the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector (A).
  4. Remove the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor mounting bolts (B), then remove the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor (C).
  5. Check for deformation in the bracket (D). If necessary replace it.
  6. Install the yaw rate-acceleration sensor in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Do the yaw rate-lateral acceleration neutral position memorization (see «YAW RATE-LATERAL ACCELERATION NEUTRAL POSITION MEMORIZATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/differentials-drive-axles/#rear-differential__yaw-rate-lateral-acceleration-neutral-position-memorization) ).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Push out the VSA OFF switch (A) from the switch panel.
  3. Disconnect the VSA OFF switch 5P connector (B).
  4. On the switch side, check for continuity between VSA OFF switch 5P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity when the button is pressed, and no continuity when the button is released.
  5. Check for continuity between VSA OFF switch 5P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 5. There should be continuity at all times.
  6. Install the VSA OFF switch in the reverse order of removal.
