Removal and Installation
Special Tools Required
Relay Puller 07AAC-000A2A1 or 07AAC-000A1A0
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing or servicing.
Scheme 2
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see «USING THE GR8 BATTERY DIAGNOSTIC STATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/body-electrical/#battery) ).
- Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see «CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard__center-panel-removalinstallation) ).
- Disconnect the connectors from the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box (A).
- Remove the mounting bolts, and pull the fuse/relay box away from the body.
- Disconnect the connectors from the back side of the under-dash fuse/relay box, then remove the under-dash fuse/relay box.
- Carefully remove the relays by using the relay puller. NOTE: Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays, which could cause the engine to stall or not start.
Installation
Note. The MICU which is part of the under-dash fuse/relay box is a component of the immobilizer system. Because of this construction, the MICU must be registered when the under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, or the vehicle will not start.
- Install the relays and connect the connectors to the under-dash fuse/relay box, then install the under-dash fuse/relay box in the reverse order of removal.
- Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «RECONNECTION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/body-electrical/#battery__reconnection) ).
- If the under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, go to step 5. If the original under-dash fuse/relay box is installed, go to step 10 .
- Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Select the IMMOBI from SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select IMMOBILIZER SET UP.
- Select the REPLACE MPCS/MICU/IMOES, then select the suitable menu from the HDS indications.
- After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.
- Confirm that all systems work properly.
