Note. Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ). Set the fader and balance positions to the center. Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Turn on the audio unit and check for sound in each mode (AM, FM, XM, and CD). Is the sound normal? YES -Go to step 3. NO -Go to «AUDIO SYSTEM SOUND IS WEAK OR DISTORTED»(ref-510484-S06484481762012102300000) , or «NO SOUND IS HEARD FROM THE SPEAKER(S)»(ref-510484-S31632969372012102300000)
- Operate the volume knob to see if the volume changes. Does the volume change? YES -Operation is normal at this time. NO -Substitute a known-good audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ). If the symptom is still present, substitute a known-good audio panel (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio panel (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ).
