Volume does not change (without navigation)

Note. Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ). Set the fader and balance positions to the center. Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Turn on the audio unit and check for sound in each mode (AM, FM, XM, and CD). Is the sound normal? YES -Go to step 3. NO -Go to «AUDIO SYSTEM SOUND IS WEAK OR DISTORTED»(ref-510484-S06484481762012102300000) , or «NO SOUND IS HEARD FROM THE SPEAKER(S)»(ref-510484-S31632969372012102300000)
  3. Operate the volume knob to see if the volume changes. Does the volume change? YES -Operation is normal at this time. NO -Substitute a known-good audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ). If the symptom is still present, substitute a known-good audio panel (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio panel (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510484-S38675893192012102300000) ).
