- Turn the map light switch OFF.
- Open the sunglass holder, then remove the two screws (A).
- Carefully pull on the roof console (B) to disengage the two clips (C) from the roof.
- Disconnect the 20P connector (D) from the roof console.
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 6.
- With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 7. - Reconnect the connector to the roof console, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the roof console must be faulty; replace it. Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 4 BLK In all ignition switch positions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V. - Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver.
- Remove the two mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the 10P connector (B) from the rear individual map light (C).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
- With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6. Scheme 10
- Open the tailgate.
- Carefully pry out the tailgate light (A). Tailgate Light: 5 W
- Disconnect the 2P connector (B) from the light.
- With the tailgate light switch ON, check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
There should be continuity. If there is no continuity, check the bulb (C). If the bulb is OK, replace the tailgate light.
Scheme 11
- Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver. Courtesy Light: 3.4 W
- Pry out the housing (B) from the door, then disconnect the 2P connector (C).
- Remove the bulb (D) from the socket.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 12
- Remove the glove box stops and damper (see «GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/ii-2010-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard__glove-box-removalinstallation) ).
- Turn the bulb socket (A) 45 ° counterclockwise to remove it. Glove Box Light: 1.4 W
- Remove the bulb (B) from the socket.
- If necessary, remove the lens (C).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 13
- Open the sunvisor.
- Remove the sunvisor (see «SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/ii-2010-2013/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__sunvisor-removalinstallation) ).
- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the vanity mirror light. Vanity Mirror Light: 2 W
- Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. With the vanity mirror cover (B) opened, there should be continuity. With the vanity mirror cover closed, there should be no continuity.
- If the continuity is not as specified, remove the lens (C) and replace the bulb (D) or the sunvisor.
Scheme 14
- «Remove the roof console»(/acura/mdx/ii-2010-2013/remont/interiorillumination-lights/#interior-lights) and disconnect the 20P connector (A).
- Connect roof console 20P connector terminal No. 1 to battery power and terminal No. 2 to body ground. The ambient lights (B) should turn on. If they do not turn on, replace the roof console.
Scheme 15
- Carefully pry out the footwell light lens (A) and housing (B). Footwell Light: 3.4 W
- Disconnect the 2P connector (C) from the light.
- Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 (+) and No. 2 (-). There should be continuity. If there is no continuity, check the bulb (C). If the bulb is OK, replace the footwell light.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the Driver's dashboard undercover (see «Driver's DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/ii-2010-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard) ), then disconnect the 2P connector from the Driver's ambient light (A). Driver's Ambient Light: LED
- Turn the socket 45 ° counterclockwise to remove the light.
- Install the light in the reverse order of removal.

- Turn the socket 45 ° counterclockwise to remove the light.
- Install the light in the reverse order of removal.
