Note. The moonroof can still be operated for about 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned from the "II" to the "I" or "0" positions, as long as none of the doors have been opened. This provides a convenience to parked occupants while offering a degree of security against unwanted or accidental moonroof operation.

1. Carefully push out the moonroof switch (A) from behind the dashboard, then disconnect the 6P connector (B) from the switch.
2. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to (Scheme 27).
3. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the illumination bulbs (C) or the switch.

Note. Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. Take care not to scratch the roof console and related parts. 1. Carefully pry the moonroof switch (A) out of the roof console.
2. Disconnect the 7P connector (B) from the moonroof switch.
3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to (Scheme 29).
4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the illumination bulbs (C) or the switch.

1. Remove the headliner (see «HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__headliner-removalinstallation) ).
2. Disconnect the 4P connector from the moonroof limit switch.
3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to (Scheme 31).
4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the moonroof drive assembly.

1. Remove the headliner (see «HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__headliner-removalinstallation) ).
2. Disconnect the 2P connector from the moonroof motor.
3. Check the motor by connecting power and ground according to (Scheme 33).
4. If the motor does not run, replace it. NOTE: See closing force check (see «CLOSING FORCE AND OPENING DRAG CHECK»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/sun-rooft-topconvertible-top/#moonroof) ) for motor clutch test.
