1. Remove the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (see «UNDER-DASH FUSE/RELAY BOX»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/body-electrical/#under-dash-fuserelay-box) ).
2. Remove the turn signal/hazard relay (A) from the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (B).
3. Inspect the relay and fuse/relay box socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
4. Make these input tests at the fuse/relay box. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the turn signal/hazard relay must be faulty; replace it. CAVITY AND TEST CONDITION SPECIFICATION Cavity Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if result is not obtained 1 Under all conditions Check for continuity to ground: There should be continuity. Blown No. 49 (15A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box Faulty hazard warning switch An open in the wire 3 Ignition switch ON (II) and turn signal switch in Right or Left position Connect No. 2 terminal to No. 3 terminal: Right or left turn signal lights should come on. 1. Remove the center panel (see «DASHBOARD CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#dashboard) ).
2. Disconnect the 10P connector (A) from the hazard warning switch (B).
3. Pull the hazard warning switch out of the center panel.
4. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to (Scheme 42).
5. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the illumination bulb(s) (C) or the switch.
