- Release upholstery at upper edge and pull forward.
- Note which group of holes the shoulder straps are routed through.
- Remove the shoulder straps (1) by pulling through the holes.
Scheme 195
- Install the baby insert.
- At the appropriate height thread the shoulder straps through the holes in insert, upholstery and seat back.
- Thread the shoulder strap locking washers through the holes as shown.
- Check that the locking washers are correctly positioned.

- Fold the upholstery back and press into place with the two clips.
- Straighten the upholstery.

- Thread the child seat harness through the holes in the baby insert.

- Position the baby insert correctly in the child seat and pull the harness lap belt forward.

- Adjust the baby insert according to the child's height by moving the upper collar upwards or downwards.

- Remove the protective caps over the nuts on both sides of the cargo compartment grille
- Slacken off the nuts so that they are at the tips of the screws retaining the grille
- Fold the rear backrests forward.

Installing The Cargo Compartment Safety Grille
- Lift the grille into the car through the boot
- Insert the rounded head of the mounting screw (1) into the rear part of the hole in the mounting in the left-hand cantrail. Slide the mounting for the grille forward so that the screw is at the front edge of the cantrail mounting. Check that the screw is locked in the mounting and does not turn. NOTE: Do not damage the headlining.
- Position the locating pin (2) in the mounting for the grille. It must be in the rounded section of the cantrail mounting. Tighten the nut a little
- Repeat on the right-hand side, but first press the grille towards the left-hand mounting in the cantrail so that the sprung mounting in the grille springs in, allowing the right-hand mounting to be positioned
- Check that the grille is correctly positioned in both mountings in the cantrails. Tighten the nuts. Tighten to 11 Nm (9 lbf. ft.) .
Scheme 202
- Install the protective caps on the nuts
- Fold the grille up towards the roof. There are gas struts so a little force is required. Return the backrests to the upright position before folding the grille down again.
Removing The Cargo Compartment Safety Grille
The grille must be down for removal. Fold the rear backrests forwards to relieve the load on the gas struts. Then detach the grille.

- Before installing check the measurement at point A = 333 mm. Adjust as necessary.
Scheme 204
- Position the cargo compartment wall with the clamps into the car.
- Open the upper clamp and affix it loosely on the top bar of the safety grille.
- Open the lower clamp and affix it as shown. Tighten the clamps only exactly as much as necessary to grip the grille, do not tighten them yet.
Scheme 205
- Adjust so that the cargo compartment wall is vertical and in the center of the cargo compartment.
- The support plate (1) must be parallel with the roof panel.
- Screw down the rear support foot (2) so that the cargo compartment wall is tensioned.
- Screw down the front support foot (3) so that the cargo compartment wall stands in a straight, vertical position.
Scheme 206
- Tighten the knobs (1) and (2).
- Check that the cargo compartment wall does not make contact with the tailgate when it closes.

- Measure the holes for the clips for the rear end of the net pocket in the side panel. Apply a wide piece of tape over the area where the holes are to be marked. Apply the tape securely. Make the markings on the tape
- Press holes into the panel at the markings using a scriber. NOTE: The front guide holes (1) for the locating pins for the clips must be no larger than 3.5 mm (9/64").
Scheme 208
- Measure the holes for the clips for the front end of the net pocket in the side panel. Apply a wide piece of tape over the area where the holes are to be marked. Make the markings on this tape. The horizontal dimensions must be measured outwards from the center (1) of the curvature. The vertical dimensions must be measured from the flat, lower section of the panel
- Press holes into the panel at the markings using a scriber. NOTE: The guide holes (1) for the locating pins for the clips must be no larger than 3.5 mm (9/64").

- Remove the cargo compartment carpet.
Scheme 210
- Pry off the four external clips at the front edge/bottom edge of the sill trim panel on the tailgate
- Pry up one of the corners of the sill trim panel using a weatherstrip tool so that the two clips at that end release
- Pull up the sill trim panel so the remaining six clips release. Remove the panel
- Detach the rubber strip where it covers the left-hand side panel in the boot opening.

- Fold the seat cushion and backrest forward on both the right and left-hand sides of the rear seat.
Scheme 212
- Grasp the upper edge of the left-hand side cushion (A). Pull the side cushion forward so that the clip on the reverse releases
- Slide the side cushion upwards
- Remove the screw at the rear edge of the panel (B) at the front/top of the left-hand side panel
- Pull the panel upwards so that the four clips on the inside release.
Scheme 213
- Pull off the rubber strip (A) at the rear of the opening for the left-hand rear door
- Using a weatherstrip tool, carefully pry off the lower panel (B) on the C-post at the top edge
- Pull the C-post panel downwards until all four clips have released.

- Fold out the load securing eyelets on the left-hand side panel
- Insert a scriber with an angled tip into the hole in the top of the covers (1). Turn the scriber so that the tip engages the reverse of the covers. Pull the covers off
- Remove the two screws from the load securing eyelets
- Remove the screw (2) at the front/top edge of the side panel
- Pull off the side panel at the top so that the two clips at the rear/bottom of the side window and the clip at the bottom of the D-post release
- Lift out the side panel.
Scheme 215
- Punch out the holes (1) in the panel from the outside according to the markings. Use a 9.5 mm (3/8") diameter hole punch. Ensure that there is a counterhold on the reverse of the panel. Do not damage the panel
- Enlarge the guide holes (2) to a diameter of 3.5 mm (9/64") if this was not carried out previously. Use the scriber
- Remove the tape.
Scheme 216
- Take two clips and locking washers from the kit. Press the clips into place in the holes in the side panel
- Lock the clips using the locking washers on the reverse of the panel. Counterhold securely when installing the locking washers.
Scheme 217
- Punch out the holes (1) in the panel from the outside according to the markings. Use a 9.5 mm (3/8") diameter hole punch. Ensure that there is a counterhold on the reverse of the panel. Do not damage the panel

Reinstall
- the side panel. Tighten the screws for the load securing eyelets. Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lbf. ft.) . Reinstall the covers
- the lower panel on the C-post
- the rubber strip at the rear edge of the opening for the rear door
- the panel at the top/front of the side panel
- the side cushion
- Fold the backrest and seat back into place
- Reinstall the rubber strip in the boot lid opening
- Reinstall the tailgate sill trim panel
- Reinstall the cargo compartment carpet.
Scheme 219
- Press the ends of the net pocket into the installed clips until they click.
