DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT
Remove the cap from the expansion tank. (Scheme 13) Open the radiator drain cock. Install one hose on the nipple to lead off the coolant. Close the cock when the coolant is drained. When draining the coolant from the, slacken off the plug at the rear of the. Close the plug after draining.

- Remove exhaust manifold heat shield. Remove air cleaner assembly and air intake hose.
- Remove locking pin from boost pressure control lever. Remove 2 screws (marked A) and disconnect vacuum hose from valve. Remove control valve and rotate during removal. Set new control valve to same setting as old one. Measure length of push rod and adjust length to match old control valve. (Scheme 14) CAUTION: DO NOT turn shaft. This may damage control valve.
- Connect vacuum hose and clamp in place. Install control valve onto lever pin and install locking pin. Thread in screws and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-159330-S18421788792003112600000).
- Install air cleaner assembly and intake hose. Adjust boost pressure control valve. See appropriate ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Install exhaust manifold heat shield when adjustment is complete. Tighten shield bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-159330-S18421788792003112600000).
DRAINING FUEL TANK
- Remove engine cover and cover from nipple on fuel rail. Connect fitting 999-5484 (Fuel Draining Tool) or equivalent and lock closed. Connect hose and fuel container to fitting. (Scheme 15) Remove system relay from engine compartment. see scheme 32
- Bridge terminals 30 and 87 (C) on relay base using a wire.
- Turn ignition ON to activate fuel pump. Capacity is approximately 0.5 gallons per minute (2 liters per minute). DO NOT run fuel pump with tank empty. Watch fuel gauge carefully. Turn ignition OFF and disconnect fuel draining equipment when tank is empty.
