Installing the SIPS sensor (C-post)

Install

1. the connector and check the locking
2. the two screws. Tighten to 6 Nm
3. the side cushion and screw.

Fold back the backrest and the seat cushion.

Install the rear sill trim panel according to Rear sill trim panel .

Prepare the car according to Installation .

Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) via VIDA. Erase the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

The front seats in all S40/V40 models are equipped with pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners. It is impossible to replace the seat belts only.

1. Make a note of the anti-theft radio code
2. Switch off the ignition
3. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Note. Wait at least five minutes before disconnecting the connector or beginning work with electrical components.

Scheme 148

1. Remove the B-post panel according to «Upper B-post panel»(ref-441374-S10793207262011121500000)
2. Disconnect the connector from the seat belt tensioner
3. Remove the two screws for the seat belt reel from the B-post
4. Pull the seat belt upwards and outwards.

1. Insert a wire in the pipe on the seat belt tensioner. This is to check the position of the piston.

Position A

the seat belt tensioner has deployed.

1. Replace both the seat belt tensioners.

Position B

the seat belt tensioner has not deployed.
