POWER SUPPLY

The keyless vehicle module (KVM) is powered via a power input on the control module.

The control module is 30 supplied from the battery via the rear integrated relay box and fusebox.

  1. Power input terminal #C3-5 (#B5) is powered via a fuse in the rear integrated relay / fusebox.

Checking the power supply

Check the power supply cable between the rear integrated relay / fusebox and the Keyless vehicle module (KVM). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Ground terminal, keyless vehicle module (KVM)

Keyless vehicle module (KVM) has a ground connection and is grounded in the body.

  1. Ground input #C3-4 (#B4) is a power ground and is connected to the ground terminal in the body.

Checking the ground terminal

Check the ground lead between the keyless vehicle module (KVM) and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the keyless vehicle module (KVM) and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0. 5 V.

Remedy as necessary.

VOLTAGE SUPPLY CLOSING VELOCITY MODULE (CVM).

The Closing velocity module (CVM) is supplied with voltage via a voltage input on the control module.

In ignition positions II and III, the voltage input is powered and the Closing velocity module (CVM) is in the active mode.

  1. Voltage input terminal #C1:5 is 15-supplied via a fuse on the central electronic module (CEM). It will not be possible to activate the control module if there is an open-circuit.

Checking the power supply

Check the voltage feed cable from Central electronic module (CEM) to Closing velocity module (CVM) #C1:5 for open circuit, loose connection, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage when the ignition is on.

Earth connection Closing velocity module (CVM)

The Closing velocity module (CVM) has a ground input. The ground input from the control module is connected to a ground terminal in the body via a ground lead.

  1. Ground input #C1:7 is power ground and is connected to the earth connection in the body.

Checking the ground terminal

Check the ground cable between the Closing velocity module (CVM) terminal #C1:7 and earth connection. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the voltage drop between the ground terminal and earth connection to the Closing velocity module (CVM) must not be greater than 0. 5 V.

Remedy as necessary.

VOLTAGE SUPPLY FORWARD SENSING MODULE (FSM)

Forward Sensing Module (FSM) is supplied with voltage via two voltage inputs on the control module.

When the ignition is on, both voltage inputs are powered and Forward Sensing Module (FSM) is in active mode.

  1. Power input 1 terminal #A C1:14 (#14) is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the system relay. The input also supplies voltage to the forward facing radar terminals #C1:1 and #C1:5. In case of open circuit, the forward facing radar will not be activated.
  2. Power input 2 terminal #C1:15 (#15) is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the interior lighting relay on the central electronic module (CEM). This power input governs the supply of power to the Forward Sensing Module (FSM).

Checking the power supply

Check the power supply cable from the system relay to Forward Sensing Module (FSM) terminal #C1:14 (#14). Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage when the ignition is on.

Check the power supply cable from the interior lighting relay to Forward Sensing Module (FSM) terminal #C1:15 (#15). Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage when the ignition is on.

Ground connection Forward Sensing Module (FSM)

Forward Sensing Module (FSM) has one ground input. The ground input from the control module is connected to a ground terminal in the body via a ground lead.

  1. Ground input 1, #C1:12 (#12) is power ground and is connected to the ground connection in the body.

Ground terminal forward facing radar

The forward-aimed radar has one ground input. The ground input from the forward-aimed radar is connected to a ground terminal in the body via a ground lead.

  1. Ground input 1, #C1:2 is power ground and is connected to the ground connection in the body.

Checking the ground terminal

Check the ground cable between Forward Sensing Module (FSM) terminal #C1:12 (#12) and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. At ignition on, the voltage-drop between the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) ground connection and the chassis connection must not be greater than 0. 5 V.

Check the ground cable between forward facing radar terminal #C1:2 and a ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. At ignition on, the voltage-drop between forward facing radar ground connection and chassis connection must not be greater than 0. 5 V.

Remedy as necessary.

Forward Sensing Module (FSM) is supplied with voltage via two voltage inputs on the control module.

POWER SUPPLY, PARKING ASSISTANCE MODULE (PAM)

Parking Assistance Module (PAM) is supplied with voltage via a voltage input.

With ignition on the voltage input is supplied with voltage and the Parking Assistance Module (PAM) is in active mode.

  1. Power input terminal #C1:1(#A1) is powered via a fuse from the rear relay 15 supply. The Parking Assistance Module (PAM) will not be activated if there is an open-circuit.

Checking the power supply

Check the power supply from the battery to the Parking Assistance Module (PAM) terminal #C1:1(#1). Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Also check the relay and the fuses. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage when the ignition is on.

Ground terminal, Parking Assistance Module (PAM)

Parking Assistance Module (PAM) has a ground input. The ground input from the control module is power ground and is connected to the ground terminal in the car body.

  1. Ground input #C1:8(#8) is a power ground and is connected to the ground terminal in the body.

Checking the ground terminal

Check the ground cable between Parking Assistance Module (PAM) terminal #C1:8(#8)and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the control module and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0. 5 V.

Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM)

  1. Connect adapter 951 2906 to control module connector C1--C5.
  2. For connector C1, terminals #C1:1-#C1:23 correspond to terminals #C1-#C23 on the breakout box
  3. For connector C2, terminals #C2:1-#C2:23 correspond to terminals #B24-#B46 on the breakout box
  4. For connector C3, terminals #C3:1-#C3:23 correspond to terminals #B1-#B23 on the breakout box
  5. For connector C4, terminals #C4:1-#C4:23 correspond to terminals #A24-#A46 on the breakout box
  6. For connector C5, terminals #C5:1-#C5:23 correspond to terminals #A1-#A23 on the breakout box

  1. Connect adapter see «9512981»(ref-460875-S15700459612012033000000) to connector C1, C2 (option) and C3 connected to the control module.
  2. For connector C1, terminals #C1:1-#C16 correspond to terminals #1-#16 on the breakout box.
  3. For connector C2, terminals #C2:1 - #C2:12 correspond to terminals #C21 - #32 on the breakout box.
  4. For connector C3, terminals #C3:1 - #C3:12 correspond to terminals #C41 - #52 on the breakout box.
