Scheme 376: General information

To facilitate fault-tracing there is a breakout box 9511428 and various cables with connectors (adapters) for connecting the breakout box to the different control systems and to the combined instrument panel.

Breakout box

Breakout box 9511428 consists of a case with 60 measurement terminals and a cable with a connector.

The measurement terminals are numbered from 1-60 as shown in the illustration.

Scheme 377

Scheme 377: Control system AW, Engine management system, LH and EZK

To connect the breakout box to AW, LH and EZK control systems with 30+30-pin (A+B) connectors

Connector A (engine side) uses measuring terminals 1-30 which correspond to #A1-#A30 on the control module.

Connector B (car side) uses measuring terminals 31-60 which correspond to #B1-#B30 on the control module.

To connect the breakout box use adapter 9813195 .

Scheme 378

Scheme 378: Engine management systems Fenix and Motronic

To connect the breakout box to the Fenix and Motronic control systems which have 43+43-pin connectors (A+B)

Use two breakout boxes (A and B) with adapter 9511351 . The adapter is fitted with two connectors marked A and B.

Connector A (engine side) uses measurement terminals 1-43 on the breakout box A which correspond to #A1-#A43 on the control module.

Connector B (car side) uses measurement terminals 1-43 on the breakout box B which correspond to #B1-#B43 on the control module.

Using the breakout box

1

Taking readings with the control module in circuit (circuit in operation)

Breakout box(es) and adapter 9813195 or 9511351 connected between control module and connector in control module box. This allows voltage readings to be taken with the engine running.

2

Taking readings with the control module disconnected (split circuit)

Breakout box(es) and adapter 9813195 or 9511351 connected either to the control module connector or the connector in the control module box. This allows resistance readings to be taken in each circuit without them being affected by other systems.
