Scheme 304: Dashboard

Dashboard carrier

The dashboard consists of a plastic carrier with rubber and vacuum molded sheeting.

The dashboard and all the accessories are mounted in a curved pipe with welded brackets for installation to bodywork A-post. In the process the steering column, climate control system, knee bolster wiring etc. are installed onto the curved pipe and is then lifted into the car as one unit.

The dashboard is available in 4 colors.

Center console switches (new)

The switch to fold in the power door mirrors in from the folded out position or out from the folded in position.

The switch to fold the outer rear seat headrests forwards.

Note. When head restraints are folded forward it is impossible for anyone to sit in the outer seating positions This is for safety reasons.

The switch to activate or deactivate the STC system.

The switch for private locking of the trunk lid and glove compartment When the button is pressed the trunk lid and glove compartment cannot be opened with the remote control. They can only be opened using the master key.

Note. Master key must be in position II for private locking/unlocking to be possible.

Reading off control module identification

VIDA identifies the control modules by reading off a number of codes from control module memory.

The codes contain information about control module

  1. P/N hardware (control module without software)
  2. serial number hardware (control module without software)
  3. P/N software
  4. P/N diagnostic software

Scheme 305: Control module

The primary task of the power seat module (PSM) is to manage the functions for

  1. seat operation
  2. storage of memory positions (seat positions only).

The control module is under the seat on the driver's side. The seat must be removed in order to replace the control module.

The power seat module (PSM) communicates with directly connected components and with other control modules via CAN communication.

The control module checks activations and input and output signals via an integrated diagnostic system. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in certain cases if the control module detects a fault.

Any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored in the control module memory. The data can be read off using VIDA.

A simple way to check that the power seat module is supplied with power and grounded is to move the seat.

If the voltage is below 8.5 V or above 16.0 V, the power seat module (PSM) will not function. If the voltage increases to above 9.0 V or falls below 15.5 V, the control module will function again.

VIDA identifies control modules by reading off a number of codes from the control module memory. The codes contain information about the control module

  1. hardware P/N (control module without software)
  2. hardware serial number (control module without software)
  3. software P/N
  4. diagnostic software P/N.
