Removal & Installation - C70 & S70

To remove door panel, refer to illustration. (Scheme 3)

Removal & Installation - V70

  1. Remove Torx screw from center of panel in door pull. Remove door mirror internal cover.
  2. Use a 10mm wide flat-blade screwdriver with the tip bent 90 degrees to remove door trim panel from around door handle. (Scheme 4)
  3. Carefully pry off trim piece by pressing clips towards center. Protect door panel and carefully pull trim piece outwards using bent screwdriver.
  4. Pull bottom of door panel outward and remove clips(7) from bottom of panel. Reach behind panel and press window lift switch panel upward. Disconnect window lift switch connectors. (Scheme 4)
  5. Remove door panel from door. To replace panel, reverse removal procedure. NOTE: New replacement panels may not have window switch cut-outs. If necessary, use a small knife to cut along along perforations on back side of panel.

Removal & Installation (Front - C70)

  1. Raise window up all the way before beginning operation. If window is stuck in partial or full down position due to a defective motor or cable, cut the cable next to the motor and raise window manually.
  2. Remove door panel. (Scheme 3) Remove lock nuts from window cassette adjusters and screw adjusters ("A") in as far as they will go. Note position of screws and lock nuts for reinstallation. (Scheme 5) Remove speaker and connector. Remove 6 bolts at top of door ("B") attaching cassette to door. Remove 2 bolts from inner door opener ("C"). Remove weatherstrip from top of cassette against window.
  3. Disconnect window motor connector and remove 3 nuts ("D") attaching motor to door. Remove 2 bolts ("E") retaining Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) block at bottom of door and remove. Carefully remove power window cassette mechanism as one unit. Replace power window motor.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Before tightening upper bolts retaining cassette to door, the door must be closed for proper alignment. After tightening bolts, check window adjustment. See appropriate procedure under «ADJUSTMENTS»(ref-96657-S04497850672001041900000).

Note. The rear side window power motor is replaced as a unit with the window cartridge.

Removal & Installation (Rear - Convertible)

  1. Remove rear seat bottom by pulling upward and out. Remove bolts securing seat belt to vehicle below rear seatback. Remove 2 bolts at bottom of seat back and remove rear seatback. Remove front seat belt cap at front of rear quarter panel trim.
  2. Remove 6 clips from front edge of roll-bar panel and lift up front of panel to remove 2 clips at rear edge of panel. Remove roll-bar panel. Remove front seat belt from lower side rail by removing the trim panel over the rail and removing the bolt to slide seat belt off.
  3. Open hinge cover on quarter panel and remove bolts attaching cover. Depress center of clips and remove clips from quarter panel. Pull inward on quarter panel to release attaching clips from front edge.
  4. Remove sound-proofing material in front of rear side window bolts. Disconnect rear side window motor connector. Remove 2 screws and 2 bolts from the cover plate. Lift cover plate and inner sealing strip off together as one unit to prevent damage.
  5. Note the position of 4 nuts retaining rear side window cartridge to vehicle. These are also the adjusters. Remove front 2 nuts and loosen, but do not remove, the rear 2 nuts on the window lift cartridge. Carefully remove the window lift cartridge. To install, reverse removal procedure. Adjust window to proper alignment. See appropriate procedure under «ADJUSTMENTS»(ref-96657-S04497850672001041900000) .

Removal & Installation (Front & Rear - S70 & V70)

  1. Raise window up all the way. Remove door panel. (Scheme 3) Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Secure window in full up position with suction cups or tape. Remove window motor bolts and disconnect electrical connector. (Scheme 7) Remove window motor.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten window motor bolts to 7.4 ft lbs. (10 Nm). Recheck operation.

Removal & Installation (Front & Rear - S90 & V90)

Raise window up all the way and secure in position with duct tape. Remove door trim panel. (Scheme 6) Remove plastic cover. Remove power window motor retaining bolts. (Scheme 7) Disconnect motor electrical connector. Lift out motor. To install, reverse removal procedure.
