Scheme 794: Removal

The central electrical unit is located by the cowl panel on the left or right depending on the model. The engine compartment central electrical unit is located under a cover.

Remove

  1. the screws for the cover
  2. the cover.

Scheme 795: Installation

Replace the relay. Position the relay as shown.

  1. Test relay function.

Install the cover and screws. Check that the cover has an airtight seal with the edges of the central electrical unit.

  1. Test relay function.

Position of relays in engine compartment central electrical unit

  1. 101/102 Cruise control
  2. 103 Fuel pump
  3. 104/108 Headlamp relay and bulb failure warning sensor
  4. 105 Overload relay X
  5. 106 Overload relay 15I
  6. 107 Spare.

Removing

Remove

  1. battery negative lead.
  2. relay. Position of relays as shown: «Installing»(/volvo/s60/i-facelift-2004-2009/remont/body-electrical/#engine-compartment-relays-replacement-identification) .

Install relay.

Connect battery negative lead.

  1. Test relay function.

Relay position, engine compartment

  1. Main relay.
  2. Pulsed secondary air injection system (PAIR) pump/Glow plug relay (Diesel).
  3. Starter relay.
  4. Air conditioning (A/C) relay.
  5. Engine cooling fan (FC).
