Crankcase Capacity
Manufacturer has instituted a running change in oil pan (crankcase) capacity. Capacity on early-style oil pan engines is 5.6 qts. (5.3L) with filter. Capacity on later-style oil pan is 6.1 qts. (5.8L). Later-style oil pan equipped engines have a fluorescent dip stick handle. Manufacturer highly recommends synthetic oil. On turbocharged engines, add .95 qt. (.9L) if turbo oil cooler is drained.
