IGNITION SYSTEM COMPONENTS OVERVIEW

Note. The engine speed sensor -G28- -item 16- CYLINDER BLOCK AND LUBRICATION COMPONENTS OVERVIEW is on the cylinder block.

Scheme 1

1. Ignition Coil with Power Output Stage -N70, N127, N291, N292, N323, N324- Remove and install using the puller for ignition coil T10095 A.
2. Connector Black, 4 pin Use the assembly tool T10118 to pull off.
3. Bracket For the harness connector of the Knock Sensor (KS) 1.
4. Bolt 10 Nm
5. Connector Black, 3-pin Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
6. Knock Sensor 1 -G61- Installation location: between cylinders 1 and 3.
7. Bolt 20 Nm Tightening specification affects the function of the KS.
8. Exhaust Camshaft Adjuster Identification: 32A With sensor wheel for the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 2. Installing, refer to «CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER WITH TIMING CHAIN, INSTALLING»(ref-498994-S31865853122012083100000) .
9. Cover Removing and installing, refer to «TIMING CHAIN COVER OVERVIEW»(ref-498994-S41832167502012083100000) .
10. Seal Always replace.
11. Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163- For the exhaust camshaft. Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
12. Bolt 10 Nm
13. Connector Black, 3-pin Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated. Mark the connector before removing.
14. Camshaft Position Sensor -G40- For the intake camshaft. Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
15. Knock Sensor 2 -G66- Installation location: between cylinders 4 and 6. Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
16. Connector Black, 2-pin Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
17. Intake Camshaft Adjuster Identification: 24E With sensor wheel for the CMP sensor. Installing, refer to «INTERMEDIATE SHAFT AND TIMING CHAINS, INSTALLING»(ref-498994-S16358113472012083100000) .
18. Spark Plug 20 Nm If the spark plug is replaced, lubricate the ignition coil with power output stage. Refer to «IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGE»(ref-499000-S13888330182012083100000) . Remove and install using spark plug removal tool 3122B. Type and electrode gap, refer to «SPARK PLUG TECHNICAL DATA»(ref-499000-S18155391242012083100000) .
19. Control Housing Camshaft adjustment valves, removing and installing. Refer to «CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER VALVES»(ref-498994-S09693802462012083100000) . Removing and installing, refer to «CAMSHAFTS»(ref-498994-S36151123222012083100000) .
