Lower engine cover (noise insulation), removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

1. Torque wrench V.A.G 1783

Perform the following work procedure

1. Remove quick-release screws - A -.
2. Pull off clamping pins - B - by slightly rotating them.
3. Slightly rotate hex nut - C - or clamping pin - C - when removing.

Scheme 35

Note. On vehicles with noise insulation - D - , two quick-release screws - C - must also be removed.

1. Pull noise insulation from bumper cover toward rear and remove.

Installing

1. Install front sound insulation by pushing forward over bumper cover.
2. Attach clamping pins and tighten with a slight turning motion.
3. Install all quick-release screws and tighten to 2 Nm.
